Ferraro wins Gold at WHC, Chmelevski, Donato and Labanc earn Bronze

Four players from the San Jose Sharks earned medals at this year’s World Hockey Championship.


Defenseman Mario Ferraro took home Gold with Canada after defeating Finland in the Gold Medal game, while forwards Sasha Chmelevski, Ryan Donato and Kevin Labanc won Bronze with the United States.

Ferraro played in all 10 of Canada’s games, managing two assists, while Labanc had six points in 10 games for the United States, Donato had four points in the same number of games and Sasha Chmelevski had four points in eight games.

Other players from the organization who participated in the tournament but did not earn a medal were Alexander Barabanov (Russia), Lean Bergmann (Germany), Emil Galimov (Russia), Timo Meier (Switzerland), Marcus Sorensen (Sweden), Tony Sund (Sweden) and Alexander True (Denmark).
