Ok, Yzerman is a true renaissance man. Part warrior, part GM, part comedian. This may cheer some of you up

Well, there you have it. It’s almost not worth watching. I’m not going to comment on it, the reality is what it is. Let everyone know what you think.

There may be some blockbuster deals coming. Some of you took your shot at what those could look like, and it was fun to see what you came up with. Finding out the draft order tonight could become a catalyst in teams looking at big moves.

I’ve opened this blog early so I can get your reactions in the comments as soon as the winners are picked. MLive pointed out that Detroit’s odds of winning are lower than last year. The most likely result is Detroit picking 7th. Some of you feel like this is the year Detroit finally moves up after dropping a total of 8 spots the past few years. That’s not a record you want to set.

So have some fun with this. There are three U of M players who have been ranked in the top 10, so more interesting Michigan connections. Part of me wonders if all three would be there if the Canadian leagues hadn’t shut down. Collegiate and International leagues got a ton more scouting than normal. This could lead to some hidden gems, and so these first two rounds are really exciting. It’s good to have extra picks this year.

If Detroit wins and selects Owen Power, will he and Seider be “Seider Power” or “Power Seider”? Both sound like an energy drink you can only get in the fall. If you live in Michigan, you are probably close enough to a Cider Mill to know what a huge opportunity that will be for them! Get Jack Johnson in and (according to Holmstrom) you could have PowerCider and donuts. (Old joke from some on ice trash talk when JJ was in LA).

So get ready. Say your prayers, get your lucky socks and eat your lucky dinner. (My mom would make corned beef and black eyed peas for New Years. The problem was it wasn’t good. If I can get ahold of a Rueben I’ll do what I can. Sauerkraut is way luckier than black eyed peas). Let’s see if this is the year we finally buck the bad lotto luck. Please post your replies while they’re fresh. Let’s get the raw emotion and blow off some steam.
