Los Angeles Kings prospects Quinton Byfield and Jordan Spence have been invited to Team Canada’s selection camp for the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Byfield was selected second overall by the Kings in this year’s NHL Draft and his name on the list certainly comes as no surprise. He was a member of last year’s gold medal-winning team and while he had just one point in seven games during last year’s tournament, you can expect those numbers to rise this year, as he takes on a larger role.
Spence, a right-handed defenseman, was selected by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft.

He plays for the Moncton Wildcats and is off to a hot start in the QMJHL this season, with four points in five games. Given Canada’s defensive depth, Spence will need to fight to earn a spot on the team.
