Rumor from Two Sources. NHL Considering Double Headers Early Next Season |
|

|
Spoke to a source over the weekend and another this morning and the NHL is now telling teams to expect to start the season without fans, and quite possibly in December. Among the other possibilities, the NHL is apparently trying to get opinions on there is one VERY interesting question that I have now heard from two different teams.
If the season begins without fans there is a thought that the league may consider "doubleheader" days where two teams would play twice in the same day. One in the late morning and then again at night. The NHL is curious if the teams would be up for this, saying the benefit is obviously to shorten the season and cut way back on travel..I believe the players would be all for it.
There is also some question that each teams would have the same amount of doubleheaders, and those games could be shortened to two twenty minute periods or three 15 minute periods.
What say you to this concept?
