Quick Hits: March 31, 2020

1) On Monday, Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher did a series of interviews with the local media.

* Seven Takeaways from Fletcher Conference Call with Flyers beat writers.

* After the conference call, I spoke one-on-one with Fletcher for 25 minutes, looking a bit more in-depth about the state of various hockey operations areas, player conditioning during and after the pause, the current NHL leadership group and roster depth, assessing the 2019-20 Lehigh Valley Phantoms season and other topics. In Q&A form, highlights from the interview will appear later today on the Flyers official website.

* Finally, Fletcher did an interview with Jason Myrtetus and Brian Smith for the "Flyers Fix" podcast on the Flyers Broadcast Network. The podcast is available here.

2) Also today on the Flyers official website, the player-by-player in-depth profile series continues with a look at Travis Sanheim's 2019-20 season. Up next on Thursday: a Carter Hart profile. Matt Niskanen will be Saturday's profile.

3) Flyers left winger James van Riemsdyk will speak to the local media this evening via conference call. Apart from updating his rehab from a broken finger, JVR will offer pandemic-related pause insights as the Flyers' player representative with the NHLPA as well as on how he is personally coping with the NHL schedule break.

4) Today in Flyers History: On March 31, 1994, Mikael Renberg set a new Flyers rookie scoring record with his 77th point of the season as he scored the lone goal in a 4-1 home loss to the Calgary Flames. Renberg would go on to score 38 goals and tally 82 points; a still-standing franchise record after 26 years. For more, click here.

5) March 31 Flyers Alumni birthday: Brad Marsh (1958).
