Lane Lambert

Gerard Gallant isn’t the only former teammate that Yzerman may turn to as a head coaching option. The Free Press is reporting that Lane Lambert may well be Yzerman’s coach of choice. This is intriguing. He was part of the Capital’s championship staff, and followed Barry Trotz to the Isles. Someone who has mentored at the side of one of the NHL’s best coaches may well be worth looking into.

Lambert and Yzerman had been roommates in Detroit, and so there is far more than a casual bond here. I firmly believe that when Steve Yzerman makes a change, it will be someone he knows can share his vision.
