A perfect ending to Mikko Koivu's 1000th game as he scored the shootout winner with his signature move, backhand shelf.

The Wild have officially turned the corner and now have clawed their way to a game over the. 500 mark as they head out for another three game road trip. They have won three straight and have points in the last nine games.

Zach Parise has scored in each of the Wild's last four contests and has eight goals in nine games. Kevin Fiala continues his offensive resurgence with points in five straight and 13 points in the last 14 games.

Alex Stalock has stepped up his game in the absence of Devan Dubnyk and the team is responding well in front of him as well. Stalock as we all are aware can make the game very interesting with his, at times risky playmaking, however that is what makes him an asset as well.

It was great to see the reaction from the players for their captain following the win yesterday. Koivu is all business all the time and to see how he is respected by his mates was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to Mikko for becoming the first Wild player to play 1000 games all in Wild sweater. Koivu has been through the ups and downs of the Wild franchise and to see the way he prepares and competes each and every day is very impressive.

There is a different feel with the current makeup of the roster as the team transitions and Koivu's leadership and experience are going to be called upon more as this season unfolds.
