Don't Expect GM Decision Soon |

No timeline is set for the decision on who will be the next Wild general manager.
The early stage of the process is identifying and conducting preliminary meetings. According to the Athletic's, Michael Russo, do not expect an announcement to be made until the latter part of August.
So what does that mean for the Wild as camp is fast approaching. The Wild roster is is pretty much set however the new GM could infuse some more life and competition into the lineup before camp begins with PTOs and depth additions that they have knowledge and experience of.
The bigger story is the RFAs, Kevin Fiala, Joel Eriksson Ek, Louie Belpedio, and Hunter Warner)that are still to be signed prior to camp. I would think that would be something that the new GM would want a say in or at least a strategy behind the deals.
Inheriting a roster is all part of the deal, however if one can control a part of the future does that provide a more stable position for the new GM to establish themself with?
More tire kicking for now as the process moves forward. One thing we do know is that Rangers Assitant GM, Chris Drury, will not be the next Wild GM, as the Wild were denied the ability to speak with him.
