Some heartbreaking news today. Assistant General Manager
Chris Snow has suffered a catastrophic brain injury after going into cardiac arrest. Here is his wife Kelsie’s update:
Snow, 42, was diagnosed with ALS in 2019 and was given at most a year to live. His family has been devastated by the effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Chris’ father, two uncles and a cousin have all succumbed to the neurological disease. Kelsie’s Twitter account has provided updates on Chris’ battle every step of the way. Some of the updates are absolutely crushing and some are the incredibly heartwarming.
Here is something that Kelsie shared in January on living with a spouse who is battling ALS. It is an absolutely breathtaking account.

Chris has been with the organization since 2011, starting as director of hockey analysis.
There is other Calgary-related news today. Pelletier will be getting shoulder surgery. Mikael Backlund is closing in on an extension. The Flames and Jets play tonight. In perspective, not much of that matters compared to the blow struck to the Snow family, the organization, fans, and community. Chris is a loving husband and father.
Chris has been given the cutting edge in terms of medication and treatment and showed by example that the medical science community is taking monumental steps in the last five years.
We’ll get back to hockey tomorrow, but today if you would consider checking out the link below — that would be a good thing you can do for the world. I’m sure it would mean the world to the Snow family as well as so many others struggling.
