There is so much news and speculation surrounding the expansion draft. If the Stanley Cup Finals weren't going on the gossip would be at a fever pace. Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee's phone is reportedly ringing off the hook as other teams look to shore up their own plans. Before announcing the draft, lets take a look at some of the rumors making the rounds.
* The Blackhawks are offering to make the Knights a deal on Markus Kruger if they draft Trevor Van Riemsdyk.
* The Carolina Hurricanes may give McPhee some incentive to take a goalie off their hands, most likely Eddie Lack.
* There are a few reports circulating that Vegas may be interested in Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.
The Golden Knights
Now on to the mock draft. Once again, its very difficult to make predictions involving free agents, both restricted and unrestricted. Las Vegas will be able to negotiate with available free agents ahead of the draft, which if they sign one will count as a expansion selection. For example, if McPhee were to sign Sam Gagner as a free agent, it will count as their selection from Columbus.
