Toronto has extended Matthew Knies.. Six years 7.5, phenomenal deal in my opinion. I love this kids game. He does everything effortlessly and is so solid positionall. He’s one of those rare guys who was so good at everything but not considered a star because he’s not superb at one thing…. But he’s just a great hockey player…. Since he’s coming to the game, I have seen him as the next version of Brayden Point. …
On Mangiapane….
I’m hearing a ton of buzz right now that the Oilers are considering signing UFA Andrew Mangiopane, one of my personal favorites, as a UFA on July 1…. I would love to see this kid play with real centers who could pass to him. He’s got speed. He’s got talent. He’s one of the top point getters per minute played over the last five years…. This would be exactly the person that I mentioned would benefit from having.
On Valeno……
Seattle has put Veleno on waivers with the intention to buy him out, but are also still actively talking to teams who are interested in Kraken center Joe Veleno…. Over the last couple years Veleno has rounded into a pretty solid two-way, bottom six center…. Probably on those teams he would be a four, but he could also move up with the lineup pretty easily and he could also kill penalties and he’s reasonably priced….
