On Brad Marchand…
I don’t think anyone would say they would have expected Brad Marchand to be such an unbelievable pick up in Florida. Right now, with one game to go he’s right up there with anyone when it comes to the most valuable player in the playoffs. Bennett has scored more goals, but after last night, Brad may have scored more clutch goals and just been an all-around leader to a point where you gotta give it to the guy.
So who wants him?
Florida has a ton of contact issues, but I still believe that he may sign back with the Panthers for less money just because he loves the role. He gets to play there. There is no better place in the NHL for him right now. I’ve heard Carolina has a lot of interest, and LA but the feeling is he won’t go to the Western Conference. Could Montreal make a play for him and what he enjoyed playing for the Canadiens? I haven’t heard any rumors regarding this, but I don’t think it’s out of the question.
On John Tavares…
He definitely wants to stay in Toronto, and I believe that they can probably get this done, but should they? I’m not certain they should, despite the fact that he’s coming off an incredible season.
So who wants him?
Besides Toronoto, I’ve heard the Rangers and devils have poked around. Obviously, John spent so many years in New York, and if he’s not gonna play in Toronto that would be the natural return for him. A lot may hinge on the devils and their attempts to get Quinn Hughes. The Rangers are clearing cap space for something and could very easily still make some moves….
On Brock Boeser….
In many ways, it feels like Brock has flown under the radar a bit. But that is not the case within the NHL GM world, where he’s considered one of the best pick ups available. It’s rare you can get a sniper of his consistency and he for sure is not going to sign back with the Canucks.
So who wants him?
Anyone who wants to add to their scoring wants him. He definitely needs a fresh start, and I believe, if put into the right , his impact could be massive . The main teams I have heard so far are Tampa(e4), Dallas (e2), Philly (e2), NY Rangers(e3) and Sabres (e3).
