Turning $3 into $10,000 With A...Bobblehead? (Canadiens)

A happy ending is always nice, no? (Minds out of the gutter you degenerates...). Well I've got one here in the form of a story I first reported in July! Remember Mr. Normand McDonald? This man purchased a paper mache bobblehead in a Fredericton, New Brunswick thrift shop approximately 7-8 years ago for the paltry sum of $2.99. Fast forward to 2016 when Mr. McDonald's curiosity peaked one day and the urge to know more about this Bruins bobblehead in Canadiens colours set him on the path to a big payday! You can hit the last article for the nitty gritty on why it's so valuable over here , but for the purposes of today know that it was quite old, in great condition, very rare, and the remaining piece required to complete a New York area man's collection...

Well, I'm happy to report we have two very satisfied men after last week! (I hope that doesn't require another "out of the gutter" caveat) Turns out Mr McDonald and the aforementioned collector have completed a deal seeing the former earning over a 3000% profit in the form of a $10,000 sale of the bobblehead. Adding to the sheer luck of how this panned out; Turns out Normand isn't even a sports fan. He just liked the way the bobblehead looked! Go figure!

This is certainly more the exception than the rule peeps, and yet, while the payoff may not be as this one, this story again reinforces the utility of the thrift shop when it comes to collecting on a budget! Hop on over to my helpful hints around this by clicking here and see what you can do with it, and, as always, I'd love to hear about any of your prized hits and lands as you've built your collection!
