Please, Lindy.

Please duct tape Kalinin to the bench and insert Nathan Paetsch.

While you're at it, sit Kotalik and dress Drew Stafford.

Its time to reward the guys that want to play for this team.

Kalinin and Kotalik are mere spectators at this point.

******

Chris Dury's line score:

Zero shots.

Zero hits.

1 block.

1 missed shot.

UGH!

*****

Other members of the no shot club:

Danny Briere, Thomas Vanek, Adam Mair, Toni Lydman, Jaro Spacek, Derek Roy, Henrik Tallinder. Throw in Zubrus, Gaustad, Kalinin, and Campbell.

Ottawa blocked 13 Buffalo shots. Buffalo blocked 7 Ottawa shots.

*****

Ottawa won the faceoff battle-- AGAIn.

Ottawa 55%
Buffalo 45%

Chris Drury lost 7 of 18 faceoffs to Jason Spezza. This is not a typo. Spezza handled Drury.

Derek Roy lost 5 of 12.

Connolly lost 3 of 8.

Briere was the lone bright spot, winning 8 of 13.

*****

The Buffalo PP was a quagmire tonight-- again, and again and again.

House hockey Pee wee kids make better passes and enter the zone better.

No. Really. The individuals on Buffalo's team have shown their true colours on their "not so special teams" in Ottawa.

Sabres are 0 for 18 on the PP in this series.

O for 6 tonight.1 shot on 6 PPs.

EMBARRASSING PERFORMANCE!!

They now stand at 2 for their last 32, in their past 5 Playoff games.

DREADFUL

********

The Buffalo Sabres dangle precariously above the precipice.....

15 shots.

6 scoring chances.

They wasted a masterful performance by Ryan Miller.

Putrid effort in a MUST WIN GAME.

*****

Ryan Miller has been a soldier for his team tonight. A courageous effort by Miller. Its pathetic that his teammates could not feed off his inspired play.

*****

How do you give up a three on one breakway with less than two minutes to play?

Kalinin.

No Sabres shots on goal with the man advantage.

*****

Chris Neil, careless use of his stick.

#25 whacks Vanek in the face.

Lindy goes with 5 forwards on the PP.

Pommer and Connolly at the points.

*****

Kotalik off for a high stick to Alfies's beak. Then Kalinin joins him with his delay of game penalty. 5 on 3.

Kalinin. Kalinin. Kalinin.

****

How do you give up a 2 on 0 breakway while on the Powerplay?

Mezsaros hit th right post.

****

"I'm very nervous. This game can go either way", John Muckler just told Ron Maclean on After 40 Minutes.

******

TV's penalty on Alfredsson, late in the second period, was a silly penalty to take, considering Buffalo were on the PP and two Buffalo Dmen were back to guard against the oddman rush.

*******

Vanek and The Buffalo Sabres have never revisted Emery's injured left shoulder. Big mistake.

Emery took a high slapper off his left collarbone/shoulder late in the first.

If you're watching the game on CBC, you can't help but notice the iso closeups of the wince on Emery's face every time he handles a high shot.

*******

I like what I see from Buffalo, following the goal. They're using their speed to beat the Ottawa Trap.

******

Fortuitous hop off the end wall handcuffs Ryan Miller, Alfie taps it in.

1-0 Sens.

Alfie's 9th of the Playoffs. From Spezza and Heatley.

******

Sabres are 0 for 16 on the PP in this series.

O for 4 tonight.

They now stand at 2 for their last 30, in their past 5 Playoff games.

DREADFUL!

Ottawa outshoots Buffalo, 12-4 in the first period.

Ryan Miller deserves combat pay for making great save after great save to keep his team in the game.

******

The Buffalo forwards are losing one on one battles all over the ice.

The Buffalo D are turning pucks over and missing their coverage.

******

Nice job, Kalinin. Whiffed at Spezza---AGAIN--- while he was pinching up the wall, and the Sens took off 2 on 1... thankfully for Kalinin, the clock expired to end the period.

Tree better turn his game around in the second or he'll be sitting with a bucket of popcorn on Wednesday night/.

*****

Buffalo were listless and sad on their Powerplay attempts in teh first. No passion. No fire.

They couldn't even dump the puck in and retieve it.

Did you see the cluster F at the Ottawa blueline?

How about the dump in that hit Briere's skate on the way into the Ottawa zone on the PP?

What's Briere doing entering the zooe before the puck on the PP?

*****

Ottawa D are playing a tight gap on the Buffalo forwards and its causing time and space issues for Buffalo.

******

It appears to me that the Sens' hatred for Buffalo is fueling them on the ice. They finish their checks with tenacity and they aim to eliminate their man whenever they can.

Why can't Buffalo play with the same hatred for the Sens?
