Promising Letang injury update

There might be some good news on the Penguins injury front. At the end of the season Mike Sullivan and Kyle Dubas alluded to Kris Letang having a serious injury and how he had been battling through it for an extended period of time.

Given Letang’s injury history it leads to a lot of speculation, none of it good. It turns out the injury was finger related. Not that a finger injury can’t totally disrupt a player’s ability to handle the puck and shoot with force, but I was thinking something more problematic was on the horizon as far as surgery goes. It appears Letang will be ready to go by the time training camp rolls around.

This seems like a better outcome than most would have thought. I find the news relieving barring any unreported injuries. For Letang, it will be nice for him to compete without such a nuisance injury.
