For what it's worth, Terry Bross told me an hour ago that the Sabres are still in the running for Shane Doan:

Switch Pommer and Foligno and you are good. Foligno has not proven he can be a full tiem 2nd line player. Pommer is team captain and not a 3rd line player.

I thought I read that any contract offered to Brennan had to be 1-way, true?? No way he would pass through waivers if that is the case, the blueline is getting more and more over staffed. They have to have some sort of move in the works.

I'm assuming we can expect a Kostitsyn blog in the near future since Ek put the Sabres as having interest

It can be a 2 way contract depending on the agent and player; but even with a 1 way contract, they can start him in Rochester. If he gets brought up, then he'll have to enter waivers.

Don’t take this for more than what it is, but Terry Bross of Lagardere Unlimited did tell me less than an hour ago that the Sabres are still in the running for Shane Doan. Bross wouldn’t say if Buffalo is willing to do a 4-year deal with his client.

“They are still on his list.” Bross said. “Out of respect for the team, I won’t comment on offers made.”

Buffalo is one of 6 teams believed to have made formal offers to Doan.

Also re-signed by the #Sabres was D T.J. Brennan. He was a RFA and really had no choice. Must clear waivers to be an #Amerk again.

Whether it's a 1 way or 2 way deal has no effect on whether or not a player has to clear waivers. It's only affects their pay in the minors.

Waivers are only based on games played and years under contract.

Somebody seriously needs to sign a F*cking contract so some moves can be made.

shore up the 3rd line and maybe upgrade a d man for the top 4
