It must suck to have to follow such a bad team with little to no hope for the future.

Welcome to the show!

Well, kinda...

Anyways, great job on the blogs. If you're in Calgary on the 17th come on down to Eua Claire Market for the Five Hole For Food event.

VIP Game at noon, with other games and prizes to follow.

I'll be trying to find some time to do blog updates from the event.

I'm excited to see what Calgary has in Sven , but young budding star? lol. Not even close. We can call him a budding star when he has a few seasons under his belt.
In Context Eberle who has roughly 70 goals in 2 seasons is considered a budding star.

Don't put the horse before the cart friend.

OT: If Calgary wants more of these talented kids like Sven, they're almost certainly going to have to move Iggy and Kipper. Grab a few 1st round picks for em, and a filler roster player for the holes they leave. I'm all for seeing Calgary go from a cusp team to a contender. Makes it more fun for the battle of Alberta.

Great to hear that he's got the work ethic though, that's the first step! :D

Congrats Colin!!!

It'll be nice to get some consistent Flames talk going on the site, looking forward to it!!!

Great first blog too, definitely lots to discuss.

On your projected line-up I really like the looks of that second line. If Backlund pulls his socks up and at least does an OK job centering that first line it can allow Cammalleri to play his natural winger position on line 2. I honestly think the Flames have potential to have two 40 goal guys this year (Cammy and Iggy) which would be really nice. I think the Czech-mates would create tons of opportunity for Cammy to bury.

Trust me, if you were in the Dome watching Baertschi play last year you would understand what Colin is talking about.

The fans were chanting his name, standing ovation. Gave me chills. Best moment of the year!!

Look at both prospect pools. Did you watch the draft this year? The Flames had one of the most pathetic drafts in modern era.

The Leafs have a young core. The Flames are getting older. One of the oldest teams in the league yet they can't even take a sniff at the playoffs. Sad really.

Lol, not at all! Baertschi's awesome. I was there for his first goal, but I was there for Iggy's 500th, and also for the golden stick ceremony...

Got a little misty in the dome watching the team go crazy for their captain, then again when Conroy came down and gave him a hug at the ceremony.
