Sobotka and Stewart for Bouwmeester? Is this about to be what goes down? If that's the case... - eggsegan
That price seems a bit steep unless Backlund comes back with JBo. Though with the way he plays, I cannot see a scenario where the Blues move Sobotka. Too versatile. Too much heart.
On another note, as expressed in the other thread, despite what a good guy he is, I am thrilled Crombeen is gone. Skill wise, the guy could do almost nothing aside from fight (and he did not do that all that well either). Did he give it his all? Hard nosed kid? Yes and Yes. Heart and soul guy. Good in the room and good in the community. But all he brings is intangibles. He's just not a good hockey player.

Also, no way Doan is a Blue next year. No way. No how. |

Crombeen aught to be given his due. He's a heart guy through and through who scored improbable goals and stuck up for his team... even if it meant a bad penalty or ten...
I always saw brilliant hands, until I watched an entire season. Gots to go! If he's in the league in five years, it'll be because he found a different role but managed to show the same team game. |

What if he loves Keith Tkachuk in an unnatural way? |

Un-natural as in not the biblical way? Or super-natural?
Anyway, I suppose that would work. These days there is plenty of Walt to go around...

Top Line: Perron - Backes - Oshie
Line 2a: D'Agostini - McDonald - Tarasenko
Line 2b: Steen - Berglund - Stewart
Energy Line: Sobotka - Nichol - Langenbrunner
Line 2a is just too small, no one to go to the net, too easily pushed around. Plus, Stewart and Berglund didn't have much chemistry when playing together. I think Steen as the third center will make more sense, but if it is McDonald, I think he'll get Stewart as a winger. |

At 6' 202 lbs, Tarasenko is no fairy out there. |

A 6 foot tall rookie used to the greater open ice of international sized rinks can't be counted on to provide the physical presence for a line. Dags is about Tarasenko's size as well... also not really a physical presence. |

Yeah, he earned the name "Tank" because he's a figure skater. |

I am not concerned about size as much as I don't believe D'Agostini is more than 3rd line player. I don't think he is good enough. I'd love to replace him with some more talented beef, Morrow/Doan would be perfect - i just don't see that happening.

Where was he compared to a figure skater? I'm not sure why you are being deliberately obtuse. Tarasenko isn't a power forward. He isn't a net front presence.
Stewart openly said his game clashed with Berglund's last year. Oshie has earned a spot with Backes on the top line. Meaning it's logical to put Tarasenko with Berglund and Stewart with the other center. |

I'm ambivalent about Langenbrunner coming back. Glad if it hastened Crombeen's departure.
I love Brendan Morrow but I wouldn't give anything but draft picks for him and nothing above a second.
He's taken a real pounding over the years and sustained some long term injuries. I'm not sure he has much left in the tank. |

Kind of doubt he makes roster out of camp. Definitely won't be on the top line, they won't want 2 rookies on one line till they already have seen some defensive responsibility from one of them. Meaning there's not tons of ways lines work out for him to get minutes. If he isn't getting minutes... Peoria for him, till injury bug hits. |
