Asked it in the other blog, but what was Haviland in charge of when he was in Chicago? Forwards? PP? PK?

I'm guessing he could fill the Devils assistant coach void.

I would think the Habs would definitely need to add something to that...
Pick or prospect...

WOW ... That is actually a great trade for both !

P.K's value is pretty damn high. That deal could just be done as is.

Chicago fans may disagree, but to me. Plekanec=Hjalmarsson and Subban=Kane. Subban has the potential to be a number one physical offensive defensemen.

PK is a pretty overvalued player to. Plus he is a bit of a enigma. And the value of a defensive Dman is over looked big time. If the Habs move PK it must mean they are ready to ride Markov. Pacioretty Galy Kance would be a pretty good line.

I'd think long and hard about this deal. I'm a fan of both players.

I'm in the group of fans that only trades Kane if it fills two holes..

IMO, this trade fills 1 and a half holes because in Kane's departure, you leave the top line RW open..

..... Doan?

I agree JJ.. Pleckanec and Hossa would be great together.

If the Hawks do deal Kane, this proposed deal would be acceptable to me.

IMO, Kane may have more value than Subban but Plekanec would probably have more than Hjalmarsson so it kind of equals out.

Do it and then sign Shane Doan! A man can dream can´t I...

Two questions:

1. Why isn´t Stephen Johns coming to prospect camp

and

2. When we will see assistant coach to be named??

For the players involved I would say that this deal makes sense. More or less equal value going in either direction.

However with that said Montreal would essentially lose their current #1 center and #1 D-man in the deal.

Sure they'd add the best forward of the group but it doesn't address their center ice position and doesn't address their D problems.

So although the players make perfect sense I say it does not address Montreal's needs and so don't think it would ever happen.

If a deal is made I don't think we'd see Kane coming to MtL and don't think we'd see Pleks or Subban heading to Chicago.

Luongo is apparently meeting with the panthers owner in Vegas tonight
I think your proposed hawks-habs deal is pretty solid for both sides.
Rather the Hjalmarsson I think a Gagner-Leddy deal is more realalistic

Can you imagine MTL playing the season with Galchenyuk, Desharnais, Eller as our centers? And ON D we would have no #1 D-man, just a bunch of #3-4 guys.

I think the players involved make sense perfectly but for a roster standpoint it makes no sense for MTL.

I would think that if Plekanec heads to Chicago that one of Sharp or Bolland would have to head back to MTL.

So perhaps the deal is alot less than you thought. Sharp for Plekanec?

Hey JJ,

Is Hossa healthy? I haven't heard anything after Torres went all Cooke on him.
