No way Nash ends up in Detroit, Howson wouldn't send him within the division unless he is absolutely blown away. He'll probably go to SJ or start the season in CBJ. Good for Howson standing pat with his demands, Columbus could potentially become a decent team with the return on Nash

I have been tracking this possible trade and while info is sketchy I know this is NOT for Luongo or Nash (note: Luongo is very much being discussed with Toronto and Nash isn't....as of now) I am hearing this trade is for a top line center with size. A few have theorized the player may be Getzlaf...but no one has confirmed that name as of this time...

If Burke could pull that off, it could be a great fit. Stastny is extremely talented, and he needs a change of scenery. Playing top minutes with Kessel and Lupol, well, that could be a very nice combo. He's not a "big center with size" though (6ft, 205lbs)...not sure what COL would want in return from the leafs though...

Normally I'd say that matters, but should it here? I mean Detroit kicks Columbus' rear all the time anyways. Nash isn't going to change that situation.

Though do agree that they might want to avoid Nash beating them up often if they can help it.

Can't say I'm impressed with Howson. He made this mess by throwing Nash under the bus and now he has to move him. He won't be running the team long if he can't get a trade done here.

I have Detroit, NJ and Pitts as his most likely destinations..

In pitts he wouldnt have to backcheck because if they are on the ice they will have the puck and it will be in the offensive end

With Detroit he will play with the Selke god in Datsyk

and I think NJ has the ability to make him a more complete player ala Kovilchuk
