Unless a Dman is moved i don't see Bryce coming back which is sad but it has to be done. We have too many guys as it is and young guns waiting to make the jump. Sucks though his on ice play maybe can be replaced but you don't replace a guy like Bryce in the locker room.

if parise doesnt re-sign by noon then i bet we wont find out anything about what he is doing until tomorrow at the earliest, i still believe he will be back, but if he wants more than 7.25 (id say 7 tops) then he can go play elsewhere, and we have been saying that throughout the season

brodeur will be back, the whole agent thing is being blown out of proportions

I'd rather have Bryce than Greene. Assuming Larsson can step up and remain.

I think he can get more than that in another jersey.

I think i would too but Greene played great last year and is younger. We need to use Greene on the PP instead of Mark Fayne...

Money's not the problem. They'd be stupid not to test the market right now. We have the money to retain both Parise and Brodeur that's not a problem.

My understanding is there will be room for both Parise and Brodeur in Devils' budget, but Parise is first piece of the puzzle.

Pretty sure I know a lot more about the situation then you do. Money is a problem, yes, but not the problem stopping us from signing ZP and Brodeur. We still have 8 million to go to reach the floor for christ sakes. We can sign Parise, no doubt about it.

It's about time the Devils go in another direction. I've been saying this for 3 yrs now (close to 4 really) that the Devils needed to start a "new" foundation for this team. The first step was to bring in Kovy, a true elite talent that deserves the money he's getting (I know, no athlete deserves the money they are getting). If your going to pay top dollar then get top talent. Parise, who every Devil fan loves, is NOT elite. He has a all-world-class effort but he's not as talented as many in the NHL. It would be a big mistake to pay him top dollars. He's more in the line of a Brian Gionta then a Sidney Crosby or a Steven Stamkos but yet he'll get paid like them. Time to build around Kovy, Henrique, Larsson, JJ and the many other young Devils that are coming up (Urbom,Merrill,Burlon,Gelinas,Boucher,Matteau etc etc). As for Marty, great memories....no really some great, great memories but time has past you my friend. You are an average goalie at best (who had a decent playoff run), it's time we get somebody in to hold the spot until Wedgewood is ready (this kid is going to be real good).

12 in revenue, last year they were 3rd on Forbes, now 20th but still with 10 teams below them.

Problem is their operating income is down because of the debt. They can sign Zach and Marty, the question is how much does Zach wants up front as a signing bonus? That's the figure that NJ may not be able to handle. That and the fact that he may have been disingenuous and really does want out of NJ.

This whole "NJ is broke, they're getting moved" drama is massively overplayed thanks to a lot of media hype from individuals who have absolutely no access to their books and can do nothing but speculate about a team they don't like.

Even if Zach leaves, Marty will then be re-signed. It may be a one or the other (obviously I'd rather they keep Zach), but they won't lose both. They still have a cap floor to reach and one will be locked up. But, without Zach this team can still make the playoffs. Someone will overpay for a 60 pt a year opportunistic grinder. And whether or not he succeeds outside of NJ will depend largely on where he goes. If he bolts for the payday, I can only hope he follows in Gomez' shoes.

Loyal to the team, Devils for life!

The question is how long is Lou willing to wait. The goaltending situation is waiting on him. We won't sign goaltending until we sign or don't sign Parise. If Parise takes a week to sign, the good goalies could already be off the market. Lou has to have some sort of deadline and say, I need a definite answer by whenever. This might turn into the Niedermeyer scenario where when he leaves there isn't quality players to replace him.

Well then we have no choice but to let him walk...I wouldn't blame Lou and i can't even get mad at Zach i guess. Take it while you can. Hes no where near worth that much.

Exactly, let him (frank)ing walk. This is truly a case of a team having to break the bank for one player.

I've loved and felt privileged to have watch Zach play. His work ethic is inspiring. But he's not a top 10 player in the league. Peace out, Zach!

Some people are, but did you see what I wrote. Money isn't the problem to sign Parise and Brodeur. They have the space, and they can fit it under their new budget. Lou waiting so long backfired unfortunately, but it doesn't mean Marty and/or Parise are gone.
