Kurtis Foster, Carlo Colaiacovo, Bryan Allen are 3 defensemen I'd realistically like Snow to talk too. I see Cam Barker as maybe a possibility, too. Yes, he hasn't been the best since he left Chicago, but he's only 26, and he's kind of a reclamation project, which we Isles fans know all about.

Dee how is the Islanders cool-aid taste. We all know every owner WANTS to win, the route in which they take to get them their makes the difference. Let Garth be the GM not the co-GM.

If only good ones wanted to play on an excuse of a team, then you'd hit the jackpot

Thinking realistically offensively...
I know some of you don't want to hear this, but I would like to see Snow take a chance on Peter Mueller. He's a world class talent, and has put points up before, when he's not concussed, he's worth a small offer.

In a perfect world, Shane Doan at least entertains the idea of signing here.

I mentioned this name last week, and I know he's a typically inconsistent Russian player but I think Andrei Kostitsyn is a guy Snow should reach out to.

If you can get him for the right price I think Jiri Hudler could be productive on this team.

Not that I particularly want him, but Paul Gaustad is the type of player we typically look at. Very underwhelming imo.

David Moss intrigues me. Very injury prone, but very talented. Snow takes a waiver?

Kyle Wellwood isn't that bad...we've passed over him while he was on waivers, so I can't see this happening.

As a grinder I'd like to see Snow talk to Brandon Prust, Tanner Glass or Aaron Asham.

hahah...we could always bring back Ryan O'Marra, he's big and he's still relatively young.

Barker, Brookbank an Allen are the guys I would target on d, need some size and toughness, one of those 3 would be nice.

Kostyin, Muller, Samulsson are more realistic guys we can sign other than Parise ,Semin an Doan.

Burish, Purst or Tootoo would be a nice on the 4th liners or just sign Haley to 1 way deal.

Peter Mueller would be a realistic replacement of PA and Daniel Winnik would be a great addition to a team like this

Make offers to Olli, Prust, and Garrison. or Carle.

Throw the bank to Parise, and Suter... it doesn't hurt. Not many teams can sign both of them together. The worst they can say is no.

Is PA worth 4 million/year over 5 years?

Maybe if you can't pick up Olli.

Olli is a better player than PA.

Andrei Kostitsyn has mad skills, but not much will. Depends if you want to live with that or not. Latendresse is a guy you could consider and one I would not mind on the Habs for maybe 2 years, just to see if his head is ok. Penner is out there as weel.

By the way how much do you think Parenteau is worth and is he just a product of Tavares?

I'd like to see Allen here, if they can make that happen. I'd also like Brandon Prust- every team needs what he brings to the table. Other than that, save the money for the guys we already have. If we can just get another legitimate pro defenseman, and a little bit of toughness to complement Martin, I think the offensive talent we already have will come around.

Parenteau is an excellent passer, which is good if you have someone to pass to. He works hard, but he's not that big, so defensively he's "OK", in my book. I like the guy, but I agree with Snow- I don't like him for $4.5M a year...

33 of his 67 points involved Tavares, so take that for what you will. You could say Tavares helped him get half his points or you could say he was able to score half his points without the aid of the teams clear-cut best player.

Agreed...but he's a center. If he pilots line two, that means you have to put Bailey on the wing, and where do you put Strome next year, if he's ready? Garrison is another guy I forgot about....that would be a decent pickup, but I think teams are going to jack his price up too high...if they want to spend stupid money, they can just sign Parenteau for $5M a year.
