I really think this means the Avs are going after a big UFA or other scoring forward.

Duchene agrees to a lower salary than everyone expected...what did the Avs say? Go out there and prove you deserve the money? Probably...but every team says that, and every team still pays players based on potential, not necessarily history. Perhaps the Avs said something like Sign for this amount, and we'll get you a legitimate scoring winger that you can consistently play with and prove yourself.

That may be why Mueller is gone. Why does Duchene always get saddled with the guys who only play 20 games a season for the Avs?

It's a shame, I was really happy to see him return this year and he had one of the only good shots on our roster. We don't qualify someone who can score goals, while we have trouble scoring.

One would think this means We are serious about going after a good goal scorer on July 1st. Though I find that doubtful, We're probably just pinching pennies (not that mueller would be that expensive).

In the perfect world we would sign both Semin and Parise, Stastny and Duchene both desperately need scoring wingers or else their talents are a bit wasted. In no way to I expect us to sign either one though.

to stay with Mueller for all this time and to give up on him now that he is healthy is stupid in my mind, give the kid a chance to train in a offseason and play for you. even if you sign him for 1 year. a team that already has a shortage of wingers were letting one go! not a fan of this move. who well we put on the wings of our top lines now? olver, mcloud, malone, stoa?

3 years of Wilson is to much! he is 1 of many Dman on this team that are 5th or 6th dman in the NHL. we need upgrades from the O'Byrne, Wilson, Hunwick.
Shane O'Brien was our Dman game in and game out last season and we will probably let him walk.

I hope they are not putting all there eggs in one basket here and are hoping to sign Parise and Suter, cause i dont think that well happen.

I am sad to see Mueller go, I hope he signs somewhere and plays a full season to show he is healthy.

I am a bit shocked we didnt qualify, did Sherman try and trade his RFA rights at the draft? Always sucks to see a player walk for nothing.

Hopefully this means we are taking a run at a big time UFA and I guess this puts Hejduk back in the top 6 for now with Duchene, Stastny, Jones, and Landy already signed up for next season.

Hope Isles take a chance on Muller like his size an could put up good pts playing RW on Tavares line.

What is going on with your team these days? Story about Snow offering all your draft picks this year just for the second overall? Now Visnovsky might be going to the KHL? Weird couple of days for you boys

It could be that or the Avs are concerned about the way Mueller played when he came back. He was timid and played 75% or the sheet. He was cherry picking a lot. Not something the Avs/Sacco want in players.

Not what playoff teams want.

Well to be fair, Wilson, O'Brien, Hejda, O'Byrne and Hunwick are all bottom sixers. It's a certain point where it becomes a numbers game. I'd rather have O'Brien than Hejda though. Cheaper and is a good locker room guy.

Wilson's last year in JR : 2007-2008 Sarnia Sting-OHL GP58 G7 A64 P71 PIM84

Wilson’s PPG this year averages out to 30 points.

Wilson ranks 22nd in Takeaways this season by a defender while often having 20 fewer games played.

Wilson(COL) along with Shea Weber(NSH), Alex Pietrangelo(STL), Mike Weaver(FLA) & Justin Faulk(CAR) were the only four of the top 30 defenders in takeaways to carry a positive TkA vs GvA ratio.

Edit : Forgot.. He was also +11 on a minus team second behind only Landeskog +20 (Freak).

I wonder if they think Sacco might need to give him a little bit more of a chance?

Just a thought.. Some interesting numbers and names there.

It's all about consistency. As long as Lapierre doesn't try to take him into row three, He should be fine.

I don't get letting Mueller go. He was finally back healthy and could have a full conditioning off season. We have no wingers or winger prospects. Don't get the move. Even if you get Parise or Semin still need depth and Mueller could be depth.

Absolutely.. Would you ever of thought though that Wilson had that kind of offensive upside at any point?

I still think hes quite underrated by most people. He has more than just bottom pairing potential.

Mueller could be a nice pick-up for a team looking to add some skill and size. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Looks like Statsny is staying with the departure of Mueller...Which is a good thing. Semin or Parise should be the next step?

I would be pretty satisfied if we got Semin on July 1st, and I will be very pissed if we end up with Brad Boyes or Kostisyn

If we waive Kobasew and give his 1.6M to Boyes I am not sure I would be sad about that.

I know this is what I am afraid of, we will try and find the next bargain winger and then just let them walk in 2 years once they dont work out.

I'd rather have Semin than Kostitsyn. Kostitsyns are just trouble.

Yeah,

The only way this makes sense though is if they go after Semin.

If anyone has any questions about Alex Semin you should check this out.
