Really?? Because the guy they got 35th overall was as high as 11th on some peoples charts.

Having said that the Leafs suck and there is so little to be excited about anyway, but by many accounts they did fine by this pick.

Besides the Kessel deal, he's done nothing but retain (and acquire) top prospects.

Doesn't have to be know it was a bad draft. Just have to look at the team that used the Leafs picks. The Leafs did. So therefore it was a bad draft. If Detroit picked the Leafs players they would be all steals.

I can see, like many others, Burke trading prospects for veterans as an effort to get the Leafs in the playoffs. I'm also not buying that the Leafs are stocked w/ top prospects. Some potential, yes, but TOP, no.

And sorry, this "besides the Kessel deal" line of thinking doesn't work for me, as it is one of the worst, untimely and stupidest trades in franchise history.

The Leafs spending a 1st and their top prospect+++ and ending up with nothing hurt us ten times the kessel deal did.
