If Staal wants 10 years, give it to him, 5.2 per, 5.5 max.
I wouldn't go any higher nor should he, his agent will of course.
Pens shouldn't trade him, they know him, he's only getting better, the only time you trade him is if he puts himself in front of the team and he has not done that so far. |

The Leafs don't want nor need Staal. We need an established first line center.
It's not worth debating. |

The Leafs are in some trouble if they are going all out on that, it costs big money to get one OR its going to take significant assets to acquire one, assets the Leafs aren't really rich in without chopping up their team.
Wonder if they've tried calling San Jose about Marleau, not the top dog, but hes available Im sure for the right price. |

The Leafs have what every team wants: a boatload of young quality defensemen.
I'm fairly confident they can make it happen without giving up on our depth. |

We feel the same way about our core of young defenseman. Hopefully they have enought to go get a number 1 center. Just not many available. |

Thanks Gunner, well done. Staal is getting married Friday? To whom, may I ask? Anyone see this coming. All this Staal fantasy trade talk and no one mentioned the reality of marrige. Funny. |

Probably take a lot less than that. However Martin can nix any trade I believe, that makes it tougher to move him. |

Maybe he'll give in when he realizes the fans and possibly team personnel no longer want him cause he doesn't fit in.
*Edit *Everyone wanted 2010 Team USA Martin, even at the beginning of the first season with us, he was skating like Niedermayer, it was great, then things just changed. |

He might get tired of playing in a system that isnt conducive to his playing style, who knows. His contract is cramping the Pens style more than his on ice play is.
Edit: I didnt want 2010 Team USA Martin, he missed most of the year with an arm injury haha. |

I thought he was quite solid for the 2 USA Olympic games that I watched. Never really saw him much in Jersey, or at least he never stood out. |

Because of this, that bag of sh*t Ryan Whitney made the team and was able to make his mark on the team, by allowing Corey Perry to bash in a goal in the Gold Medal game while he just stood there like chump. |

We should have been coming home with the gold. The one time in my life I hated Crosby. It was for like 30 seconds then I was back to being his biggest fan and best friend. |
