Ribiero, Lapierre and Latendresse, they fired Georges Laraque,

Can't say those were huge mistakes EE, pretty sure Ribeiro would have still partied under a French front office, the rest ...meh. The other trades is what cooked Gainey's goose. imo

Those mistakes would be the result of (very) poor player development and monitoring, something Bergevin is trying to improve.

Gainey panicked when his first five year plan didn't pan out, and the pressure to "win" resulted in going FA crazy in the offseason, and the FA crazy is what cooked his goose.

It was part of the problem, but some of that blame has to still be put on Riberio.

Hopefully Identifing players that are less likely to develop ego problems as quickly as Riberio did is the first solution.

And not, we have Melanby and Lefebvre now they will set the kid straight.
