If a scout feels that the early struggles were just adjustment and that with his young age and skill set perhaps being a key factor to his amazing playoffs then I can see it too. So many quality defense prospects that it's really just pick and choose.

Hes a guy I wouldnt mind seeing the Sabres take at 12. Would rather have Faska but I doubt hes going to still be there by the time we pick. Overall, I like it.

Sounds about right to me, Sens have enough prospect depth and youth at the NHL level that they can take on more of a boom/bust guy.

1. Simple, in the layout that I put Grigorenko is the only top-end center left. Burke hasn't drafted one QMJHL player since Vancouver nor a Russian since 2002 and that was in the second round. So a Russian from the Q? I doubt very much.

2. Burke would be murdered if he selected Faksa at 5, not enough talent and there are no guarantees he develops into a center.

3. No goalie is going at 5. No (frank)ing way.

4. I suggested that if this was how it panned out they would most likely trade down.

5. Matt Dumba reminds him of his boner boy Phaneuf.

That would likely be Girgensons or Gaunce. Gaunce is likely a gritter Brooks Laich 20-25 kind of guy.

logically sound but it only makes sense from an organizational design stand-point to find a freaking bloody centre !

please, Connoly, Grabo, Lombardi, Bozak do not cut it and neither are the FA options unless it is Parise...

and if Parise went to the Leafs after making it to the finals he'd be an idiot who clearly only would care about the money and not the Cup.

Fun read, I think that's the first time I've seen someone project Girgensons to the Sabres at #12. I haven't seen much info on him. I guess I'll have to look a little deeper.

One question for you.......when you say if we like what we see from Luke Adam, we'll like this kid, what exactly do you mean? I understand the Foligno point if he's a hard worker/bang his head through a wall kind of guy, but I would not put Adam anywhere near that category. Just curious if there was something else being implied there as well?

Luke Adam had a ton of grit in the Q and in the AHL, it hasn't translated well yet to the big leagues but I think he can develop it as he gets bigger. It's the size and skill set (big shot) when comparing to Adam, with Foligno...well you know he's nuts.
