Nice Picture...

No way Kane goes to the Bruins... can't if he still has any sabres fan in him.

Once Oduya was re-signed, a lot of attention shifted to Niklas Hjalmarsson. If the Hawks go into the season with a defense corps of Keith/Seabrook, Oduya/Hjalmarsson, and Leddy/Montador, that is nothing to cry about.

That's actually a pretty good line up if Monty can come back healthy. What do you think will happen if Monty retires or goes on LTIR?

Any deal centered around Kane must include :

Colombus : Rick Nash. , I like it
Anaheim : Getzlaf or Ryan , much rather have Getzlaf
Montreal : I have no idea, Id say PK Subban but the Hawks need a forward
Islanders : again, dont know what would come close to equal value from the Isle.
Boston: Luic + ,I have no doubt that Boston would want Kane, not sure there are pieces that would match

It would be so delicious to get Nash.

Really? A stay the course summer???wtf?! I thought Rocky wanted to win??
I' telling you guys,McD or Bowman is Grima Wormtongue and Rocky is Theoden, and they are convincing him to buy into this prospect draft pick b.s. instead of win now...This team is turning into a joke again

I'll hold out hope for a Kane for Lucic deal. Hawks get a stud power forward and a whole lot tougher and the Bruins who have toughness get one of the most skilled players in the NHL who may thrive with that group. It's a win for both teams.

JJ, from the 4 teams rumored to be interested, what do you think would be fair deals to trade Kane to those teams? I would think other players would be involved, too.

Islanders offer as I heard it was a joke. Canadiens was surprising, but I am not sure how valid that rumor was. Although I do think there have been discussions with MON. Anaheim, I think it would be either Ryan or Getzlaf. CBJ it would be a multi-player deal involving Nash

It's not a bad line up. The biggest problem I see with these six is the inevitable injury. At some point in the season (or worse, playoffs) they will have these guys playing over their heads if the hawks don't sign a legitimate 3/4 dman. Jmo.

Another point would be low physicality..... This group wasn't overly physical last season, what is changing since last season that will make them become a more physical group this season?

Lucic sure would look good on a line with Toews.

I don't want Nash and his 7.8 million dollar cap hit for next 6 years. That one is a deadly contract. It leaves you little room for any moves unless the cap skyrockets this year after the CBA. I certainly don't want Subban and his (baby) attitude. What I would really like is Brouwer back. Still trying to figure out why Bruno ? Brouwer last year. Made no sense to me. There are just not enough 20G+ 200 hit+ power forwards in the league.

I dont think Suter is the answer.

I really don't like our D corps as it stands now. You basically have 1 D-man (Seabs) who knows how to clear the front of the net and lay a shoulder into a guy. It was awful to watch the way Oduya was exposed in the Phoenix series. I would have rather gone after someone else. Anyone think we have a chance at nabbing Luke Schenn?

Hey there JJ,great read as usual.Quick question,if the Hawks are dangling Hammer and Stalberg, does that mean they are confident that a Morin or Saad will be up with the big club,to replace Stalberg?

any hints at the Montreal deal?....its hard to see their deal being as good as a deal centered around Ryan/Getzlaf or Nash

I like Scott Hannon. He's a tough shut down kind of guy the Hawks could really use. He's also UFA and at a good price too.

Greg Zanon as well.

He may be expensive, but Marek Zidlicky might be worth a look too. Playing like a horse in NJ. Nasty dude with a good shot and good hockey sense.

Maybe in Stan's mind by signing Oduya he isn't making the same mistake he did with Campoli. There are still question marks with Monty and if he doesn't start the season Stan did his best in securing the best defender for the money. Another way of looking at Oduya's signing is it gives more options for Stan to trade defense for a top six forward (preferably center). IMO this is the year Stan finally steps up and makes a big trade before the season starts. If not the blame will all fall on coach Q and Stan will remain as GM.

Here's hoping the Wings sign Suter to big money for a lot of years. I think if you subtract a top Dman to pair him with he's a 2nd pairing guy.

Think the Hawks may see Olson as a 3rd pairing guy next year? If his skating improves he's the physical type that D core needs.

The Hawks better make the right decision on Kane, and soon. If the kid is an un-helpable drunk his value goes down by the day, and it will never be higher than today.

With that in mind how does a move with Kane going to Tallon's Panthers with goalie Markstrom and Jonathan Huberdeau coming back. You've got your #1 goalie for years and a big talented centerman. Might have to sweeten the pot a bit, but two big Hawk holes filled for years and Kane is no longer a problem, to the extant that he is.

Kane would have to waive his NTC, correct? Would he to go to NYI, Anaheim, Columbus? Highly doubt it. Montreal? Probably not. Boston? As a previous poster mentioned, unlikely being from Buff.

What about Kane for Jordan Staal, if Pitt decides to move him?

On D without Montador, Bryan Allen would be my first choice to replace him.

Some nice reading from Hockey's Future, who ranks the Hawks organization's prospects 6th in the league. Tallon's Panthers are ranked 1st!!

Thanks. Must have misread it. So, it kicks in for the 2014/15 season (last year of contract)?
