Not this one. I'ma big picture guy and I figure if the Kings win the Cup that will raise the stakes in Socal hockey and hopefully get Samueli to spend more money on the team. Nothing wrong with healthy competition.
Now if the Sharks were in the Kings position, that would be a completely different story....

If its not the Sharks or Canucks, I can live with it. I don't like the Ducks for obvious reasons, but for whatever reason I don't have the deep hatred for the Ducks as I do for those two teams. I used to hate the Ducks with a passion, but since I've moved out of state, I don't need to deal with Duck fans anymore so it makes it easier.
Besides, my favorite childhood movie is Mighty Ducks 2.
Calm down kings fans. You can brag all you want when the series is over and if they win. Trust me, you don't want to jinx anything. The hockey gods can do some serious damage. Until then give me a break. It's just always the same thing with you guys. Ducks suck, fans are stupid blah blah blah. News channels are filling up with all your stupid fans. It's all the same here in socal. Everyone is just a bandwagon fan and only root for the team when they get this far. People only started caring when they got this far. In a few years if the team gets in a situation like the ducks are in now, the fan base will be eerily similar.

I get your point, but anyone who's watched for a while who isnt a devils fan should be sick of their success in the last 2 decades, I know I am.
seriously, f**k the Devils. they have three cups, still no fans filling the arena, and they were almost solely responsible for every team in the league adopting the trap system prior to the lockout, making hockey half of what it should have been.
rather see another team win, one who hasn't won the cup before, and who is in a large market - that raises interest in the league which is good for all hockey fans.
Please...90% of Ducks fans have only been fans since the moment they won the cup.

I took a friend to a game a few years back since he's a Ducks fan and the Rangers were in town, and this guy in a Corey Perry jersey yelled to the only Rangers fan in the section, 'go back to the twin towers, fag'. Luckily other people turned on this idiot quickly.
Ducks fans are a disgrace, horrible attendance when the team isn't winning all the time.

Are you kidding me? You're calling us bandwagon fans? I'm pretty sure the Kings had more fans at Staples Center when we sucked than you guys have at Honda Center the last two years. The only time the Ducks can fill up their arena is if they make the playoffs.

So why not root for the New Jersey Devils?
2003 comes to mind...I could never root for the Devils to win a single game, much less the stanley cup. I hate them more than any other eastern conference team, and the hatred is on par with LA and Detroit in the west. There are about 20 teams in the league that I like to follow and about 10 that can go to hell. The devils are pretty high up the 'go to hell' list. I don't even really like the fact that our blogger is a reformed devils fan. Feels dirty to even read what he has to say, but it's better than nothing.
This is the worst finals matchup for Ducks fans I can think of, as far as I'm concerned. I have actually leaned more toward LA winning, because it may speed up their demise as an elite team since no cup winner stays at the top very long anymore.

I think you are overstating the rivalry.. Honestly as a lifelong Kings fan, I don't consider the Ducks any more of a rival than the Sharks, or Nucks, or even the Yotes now.
When the Ducks were making the run vs. Ottawa, I was pulling for the Ducks because West Coast teams have to constantly fight against a very slanted old guard media for the sport. Therefore a win for the Ducks, Sharks, or Kings is a win for all those teams that are up again the east coast media bias.
So if you are a Duck fan I ask you to think bigger picture, or at the very least adopt a neutral/ "I don't care I am a fan of the sport" stance.
