- Galchenyuk will also be meeting with Montreal on Thursday, before he does his physical testing on Friday morning.

Hey B ... Play Brian Burke for a minute and tell us what the Leafs will do going into the draft ... Including player and pick trades and players drafted !

I'd love to hear what you'd do as leaf GM !

It totally depends on who's left on the board. You'd hope to see Galchenyuk there, otherwise a case could be made to trade down and pick up another pick to grab a player like Radek Faksa plus something else.

You could also use the 5th pick to attempt a deal with a team who has a previously drafted young center. Names like Ryan Strome, Mark Scheifele or Mika Zibanejad might be something they could target if they don't like what's there at 5.

Not yet-- but it's something I've tried finding out. It's all about running into right people at right times and asking.

If Ryan Strome, Mark Scheifele or Mika Zibanejad were in this years draft...where do you think they would rank?

Strome would be in that mix in The Top 5 or 6, Zibanejad would likely come in around 8, and Scheifele would be lower. This is me assuming how people would see it as far as "consensus".

But as we saw... most had Scheifele around 18 last year and he went 7. Consensus sucks. Teams lists are so varied.

I like that move a lot more than trading for a big name , big salary

Thanks B for the insight to the combine ... Interesting read !

From my dealings, you either REALLY want to be a Leaf, or you don't at all. Just my experience, thus far.

Never seen an organization where there's no middle ground like that.

2nd, likely. I'd have him at 1 on my board, though.

Think theres any motivation for the Oilers NOT to pick Nail... some folks keep yammering about picking a dman... but Nail seems like the obvious.... OBVIOUS no brainer pick.

I don't have Yak at 1 on my board, so I don't see him as obvious choice. That being said, trading down and picking up multiple assets is probably better for Edmonton long term.

So, Yakupov goes first to Edmonton, Forsberg to Columbus, Galchenyuk to Montreal... New York probably takes a d-man, like Murray, and Toronto gets Grigorenko?
