Our power play can kill our own momentum. I wouldn't say the Rangers should purposely take a penalty to give us a power play but if they decided to play more border line it could actually help them more than they think.

Are the Rangers tired and playing poorly, or are the Devils just quicker and playing great hockey? DISCUSS!

They just cant play like a bunch of moron goons like they did last night. Devils will eat them alive like they did the Flyers if they start playing like that the rest of the series.

I blame a league wide conspiracy against the rangers.

That penalty Boyle took in the first definitely slowed the game down, which helped us.

All the ones in the third provided the opposite effect, however...

Clarckson's mysterious odd-man-rush-and-stop play perfectly exemplifies Todd's last point. If you want to make sure you have numbers, you peel of wide but keep your feet moving. In that situation, through, you've just got to take it hard to the net, shoot low, and hope the trailers pick up the rebound. When clean, open looks on Lundqvist are at such a premium, you've got to take as many chances as you can.

The Parise/Henrique 2-on-1 was another example. They were too bunched--Henrique needed to either take the puck or move wide to the weak side to give Parise options. Parise, seeing he had no options, should have shot it.

The devils have been the better team the majority of the series. Last night was no different, other then the fact that the devils were able to beat hank early.

I said before the series started it would go six or seven games.

The team that wins tomorrow will win the series IMO

Devils didn't really try to score in the power plays they got. It was more just set up and they didn't want to force anything that could wind up hurting them. For three of those PPs, they had a three goal lead. The Devils gladly wasted 5 minutes and change off of the game clock at that time.

A good majority of our team is not going to beat Lundqvist clean. They want him to go side to side and open him up. One-on-one, he takes up a ton of the net. I was watching him in warm-ups, there is hardly a place to shoot it. Maybe shoot for rebounds, but I don't blame the Devils for what they are doing. Lundqvist is a bit slow side to side, compared to other goalies like Quick, and it seems like that's what the Devils want to take advantage of.

The Devils have to keep lundqvist honest though. If we keep trying to pass Hank will start to read it. We need to shoot some for rebounds and even some near post so he can't jump off the post early.

Also, if McDonagh wants to leave the ice again for 5 minutes with anyone on the Devils I'd welcome it. I'll take that trade any day.

I don't know maybe a little of both but i'll say that Boyle looks exhausted and hurt.
The 4th line of the Devils are quicker than anyone right now and Parise and Zajac worked great together last night they were flying all over the place.

I love how Don tells me to take off the red glasses, it doesn't get more hypocritical than that, does it?

But the Rangers are a well conditioned team? Playing 28 minutes a night is not going to wear on any player's bodies.

Don't even get started on that. The fact some of them want to address Kovy's sack tap, lord knows if Hank got suckered they would want a Raffi Torres suspension.
