Well stated. The difference has been the Rangers won two 3rd periods to the Devils one. Hank has been better than Marty has been being the primary reason for that.

Hank has been the difference as well as the Devils focusing an awful lot of energy keeping the shots on Marty to a minimum. Teams are evenly matched otherwise and the Rangers have yet to play a great game. That may be a Devil problem going forward, if that great game, is the next one. Going down 3-1 is out of the question.

Hank is the main reason this series isn't a 3-0 lead for us. Marty has been solid, but I don't think anyone expected him to outplay Hank.

Superior goaltending is a part of most teams success in the playoffs.

You think the Kings are one game away from the finals with average or below average goaltending?

Quick absolutely stole that Canucks series and gave his team a chance to get going and they haven't looked back since.

The Eastern conference being much more competitive than the West is the main difference between why the Kings have breezed by, thus far, and why the Rangers have fought tooth and nail.

Zach Parise-Travis Zajac-Dainius Zubrus;
Ilya Kovalchuk-Adam Henrique-Patrik Elias;
Alexei Ponikarovsky-Jacob Josefson-David Clarkson;
Ryan Carter-Stephen Gionta-Steve Bernier

I just saw that, pretty interesting. I like the first line, and the second line's got some potential too....

No doubt, but it's just so frustrating as a Devils fan. We should be winning this series, outplaying the Rangers for most of the series so far. The Rangers are extremely opportunistic, whereas we just can't buy a goal unless we get deflections or tips, both of which are difficult to execute well. The only Devils player that can beat Lundqvist with a clean shot is probably Kovalchuk.

I really like that top line. Wanted to see Elias moved to the wing, but I expected it to be LW. Doesn't matter though as long as Parise and Kovy aren't on the same line I am happy. Glad the 4th line stays the same and that Sykora is out. Hopefully Josefson can be solid.

Elias probably is going to be on the left wing. They like their lefties on the left wing and righties ont he right wing. It's most likely a typo by TG. Since Josefson broke his hand, he should've still been working his legs and keeping his conditioning, so I expect him to come out flying tomorrow night, being rested.

Got to say Rangers have played this same way all season long and it has just somehow worked the whole way...teams like Ottawa and Washington and now the Devils are experiencing the same thing.. Really does have to be frustrating

It's just irritating, they are taking sole advantage of Lundqvist being huge in the net, and by crowding the net and giving few lanes, the chance of beating Lundqvist and the blocking Rangers is so slim without deflections or tips. Lundqvist is the only reason they won games one and three, the Devils should have with all the chances, been up by 2 goals, more so in game three than game one, as the Devils had trouble with the shot blocking of the Rangers in the first game..

I don't Elias has been effective at all. I just don't think he's been that good in the Conference Finals. I say sit him to rest a little and call up Teddy.

So you're saying play Tedenby over Elias? Whose going to kill penalties and do all the little things Elias does. That's a laughable suggestion at best. Get Elias to his comfort zone in the wing, and watch what he'll do with less responsibility.

TG said Kovalchuk is practising as a LW, not RW. That would obviously mean Elias is the RW.

Edit: Kovalchuk is RW and Elias is LW.

Hopefully your right about getting him into his comfort zone on the wing because we really need him to step up. Hopefully.

It is a good game plan by Torts. Can't use it as an excuse.

Not using it as an excuse, it's just frustrating to watch. Devils are all over the Rangers at times, with nothing to show for it.
