Canada couldn't finish at all...they should have had like 6 goals that game...it sucks as this makes the Olympics that much more difficult now for Canada, but this wasn't even close to the best team Canada could have iced so i wont get that worked up about it...more than half those guys wouldn't be on the Olympic team should NHL players be there..

No mobility-- his problem under Ronnie, who had him play closer to the boards. Completely exposes his lack of foot speed.

ya pretty much...he got beat a lot....but oh well...it sucks to lose, but this team was far from the best team they could have out there..between some players that were hurt and didnt want to play, and it still makes no sense why lowe would say no to Spezza who actually wanted to play....stupid

not sure how this makes the olympics more difficult for Canada? The roster in sochi will have MAYBE 6 or 7 guys who were on this team. Most of Canada's big name players weren't in this tourney. the outcome here has no effect on the olympics, unless it makes other countries take Canada more lightly than they should, which will only help the Canadian team.

this is seriously the biggest "who gives a poop" tournament on earth. i rank it only slightly ahead of the spengler cup.

this tournament dictates the seedings for the olympics, so canada will have a way better team, but will be stuck in a tougher division or however they do it...canada will be ranked lower then they really should be because of this.

The signing of Underhill makes a lot of sense right about now...
Luke's going to have a very busy offseason.

You don't know that, it could help us easily if we end up in the bracket opposite USA, Russia, and Sweden somehow....imagine we end up in a bracket with Norway, Slovakia, Finland and USA, Russia, Sweden all end up together? Awesome.

Honestly what did you expect.

first, they were put together by the Oilers who have not been able to build a competitive team for how many years now?

But realistically 3 of these players are going to be on Sochi 2014. They went up against the top players from most Countries.

Which is ironic because two of the three Oilers on the team could very well be in Sochi.

I sometimes forget how competitive Montreal is, they had a good season right? Realistically they should have played Price instead of Ward, oh wait he wasn't invited was he, i think the back up was an Oilers player? Correct me if im wrong.

was price asked? he should have been the starter....as has been said..this team was FAR from the best team canada could ice....if price wasnt asked that is crazy...but Kevin Lowe did say no to spezza when he called him to say he would like to play...so that makes sense..

Spezza clearly wouldn't have helped on the 5 on 3 we had for just under 2 minutes when they kept trying that stupid jam play from the side of the net.

Chara was an animal on that PK. He hopped in that crease ready to do whatever it took to keep that puck out of the net on more than one occasion. The jam play was going to be the only way they were going to get it past either Chara or Laco.

The Spezza decision was dumb if you look at it in terms of just this year.

But if you think about this as being preparation for Sochi it makes sense. Play the kids, give them the big ice playing time.

My guess is the Phaneuf/Schenn debacle probably has something to do with TSN leaning on the Canadian selectors to include some talent that would be appealing to viewers in the GTA.
