I'd love to get Staal in an Iginla trade (that won't happen) but I'm pretty sure the Flames would have to put more in the package.

Kesler for Staal. Similar players, both teams need a shakeup.

I would never do that unless I see Keslers offensive production go up.

If I'm the Pens, I'm not moving him.

He's not a #1 center, but a great #2 (on a good team). But he's only 23, has a Cup ring, great defensively, and has improved offensively every year since his second season. His ceiling might end up as a solid number one center.

If Staal is available. Burke needs to work the phones hard for this one. Here is your big #1 centerman.

Agreed, the only way I'd trade him if we had a replacement 3rd line center in the farm system (Which we don't) and/or we got a gritty 70 pt winger which teams not might not want to swap a winger for a center.

I can see stall going to the sharks. I don't know why. I have a feeling those two(sharks, pens) will be good buddy's this offseason.

Well Staal has never had near the output that Kesler had last year at 40 goals, ~80 points. Canucks would be taking on the risk that Staal is a career 50 - 60 pointer vs the 70 - 80 that Kesler has proven he's good for. Think it's pretty fair, of course Kesler is coming off shoulder surgery.

Yes, but can Kesler do it consistently. Staal was on pace for some where around 65 pts. Also, his production has gone up since his 2nd year (Offensive)
