I'm sure it's easier to buy in when you're winning. I wonder if the team gets bounced from the playoffs and hits a rough patch at some point next season, and the stars are still seeing limited ice time, will the players and fans stay on board? |

A lot has to happen between now and then. But in the end, no one really knows. I'm on the fence regarding that issue. I really think Hunter is bringing out the maturity in OV (FINALLY). Caps Nation knows it's been far too long a wait to finally see OV growing up. |

That's really the question. The other thing I was thinking while I was watching was why not play Ovi a bit more and get a decent lead? You really think you are going to be able to cling to a one goal led or a two goal led with 2 periods left all the time?
Then again maybe this is just Hunter getting into Ovi's head and hoping that once they call on Ovi that he'll be more dangerous then ever before. |

Varly played great in his first playoff series
The next year Neuvy played well in his first playoff series so it remains to be seen whether or not Holtby is the real deal but based on his 10 game stint last year and his play this year I have high hopes that he can be a capable starter for years to come.

Have to say his body language all through last night was definitely a complete 180 from when Boudreau took him off the ice earlier in the year and there was that little media dustup over it. |

That's great that they played decent. Holty just single handedly won you a series and beat out the former stanley cup champions. |

Hey man I hope you're right and I think he has a much better shot at being a great goalie than Varly and Neuvy did/do but I'm just saying he has only played 30 games including these playoffs and you just never know with a goalile... I mean Steve Mason looked great years ago.

bah. the caps won because they got lucky and the officials were terrible. just ask rangers fans. - hammarby31
Ranger fans are babies just like tort and always think the officiating is terrible...and i love how they cant think of anything on their own, like 5-4-3-2-1 OV sucks at the 8 min mark....stolen from Ottawa and their Alfie chant at 11:00 Go Caps |

Got to admit, I was a little surprised/impressed that Rags fans could count backwards. |

Coming from the fanbase that can't go one home game without having to say Rangers suck to the chicken dance tune and If you're happy/clap your hands. Islander fans sit on their hands until those two songs are played after that back to crickets.

In fairness, you guys still can't go a home game without chanting "Potvin sucks," and he's been retired forever... |

in.
The stupid fans try to do that on their own. The garden stopped having the in house audio stop playing it years ago. Something about it being disrespectful to Potvin. |
