I like the fact that the Devils are changing their lines and we haven't even played a single game.

Flyers need to get pucks deep and control the play. Continue to play solid defense and I think Bryz is going to play much better this round in net.

I expect bryzgalov to be a lot better this round, but by looking at the lines for jersey, I see briere having a big series. Jvr will also get it going with a couple goals. Let's go flyers.

Flyers in 5 Marty can still steal one. Speed kills the devils system and the flyers have plenty .

I think it's funny as well. I understand that DeBoer wabts to spread his offensive talent out but they haven't even played yet to see if it necessary. Coots line primarily matched up with the Malkin line, but then there was Crosby to deal with. ThevDevils should make the flyers prove that they can shut down Kov/Parise before tey start line shuffling.

Today's Flyers-Devils officials: Refs are Dan O''Halloran and Wes McCauley, linesmen are Steve Barton and Jean Morin.

A lot more goes into it then that including trying to spark Elias and Zubrus who were offensively limited in the series as well as trying tio get Sykora and Ponikarovski going. These were lines that we used in the last five games of the season and they worked very well. It just gives us a more well rounded attack while preventing both Parise and Kovalchuk from potentially being shut down.

So glad the game is finally here. It feels like it's been weeks. I have to say, I'm loving being able to watch every playoff game on NBC. It really helps with the down time.

Flyers need to come out strong today. It's an afternoon game, which hopefully doesn't matter anymore after game 6 last series.

I really hope JVR can get himself going in this series. It was tough to work him in at that point in such a hectic series with the Pens. If he can start contributing, this team is going to be a force up front.

Not a bad crew. McCauley is still a real young ref (and he was one of the officials in the penalty-filled Game 4 vs Pitt) but he knows what he's doing. His late father one was one of the best refs in NHL history.

O'Halloran is decent.

Both linesmen are good.

So no blown offsides or icing calls leading to goals in game 1 again?

To be fair, game 4 was kind of "ordered" from above. He's usually not that intrusive-and did tell both teams in pregame that the game was going to be called tight.

But, I don't see the names Peel, Jackson, Lee, Auger or Pochmara and I'm fairly happy with the ref assignments.

Did you see the boarding call last night in the kings/blues game?

Colin Campbell apologized for that. Stop bringing it up.

Did you ever hear the philosophy that once a man admits he's wrong, he's immediately forgiven for all wrong-doings?

Yeah...that game was not handled well.

And that was Eric Furlatt and Stephen Walkom...Walkom was a fantastic ref, when he was NOT on the ice and worked in the league office.

Sounds great. I like it. The coach is concerned with the Flyers players.

I thought it was pretty ridiculous it wasn't called, but it is what it is. I'm happy not seeing the name Rinaldo in the lineup. Should help them stay out of the box a bit more. Whether it's warranted or not, he's a magnet. I'll gladly take JVR in his place.

They do. He's playing some great hockey. They have guys stepping up, too. Dustin Brown has been a pin in the ass for the Canucks and now the Blues.
