mike green is a head case. all the talent in the world but no confidence. that issue he had a few years ago when easton stopped making his preferred stick was a great example.
it'll be a good close game tonight though. it comes down to how well holtby plays. end of story.

Your guys change in style has served you well this series. Holtby standing on his head hasn't hurt either. This could be a long series if things keep going the way they have. I don't think the loss of Backstrom is gonna make much difference considering how long you guys played without him and you beat us 3 of 4 without him in the line up to start with.
If we can keep bringing the more physical play, and get into Holtby's kitchen, then this game stands a better chance of swinging our way. That was proven last game I think.

reg season and Playoffs are 2 different animals although you know that. I think the loss of Backstrom really hurts Washington they have some momentum and were feeling like it was anyones series losing a key guy like that only makes it easier on the bruins to match up and play BETTER defense. Thus allowing the attack to really pressure Holtby. That kid is playing amazing though huh good for him!

I just hope the Bruins stay out of the penalty box. We've already seen Lucic negate a PP, and now with Erskine reportedly in the lineup (probably for his defensive prowess ) the Bruins need be careful because the refs will be coming down hard if last night's Pens/Flyers game is any indicicator of officiating.

Indeed he has, not the only reason, but probably the biggest reason the Caps are still in this.

I see what you did there. Its every series though players who even get hit and do nothing in return are getting tossed out of games look at matt cooke... Yeah i know Matt COOKE! But seriously even if you do nothing people are getting tossed it is literally ZERO tolerance in these playoffs.

Wow, Erskine in -- he hasn't played in a LONG time. Will be interesting, he is the only Cap on the roster who is a potential deterent to Lucic running around like an idiot. They've gone at it a couple of times before, and Erskine has held his own. A shame that the Caps have to insert a guy into the lineup to deal with Lucic because the refs aren't doing their job.

Erskine can definitely hold his own vs Lucic. I would much rather see two guys fight and settle it rather than cheapshots everywhere. I hope to see some real physical play that's clean, like Ovechkin and Siedenberg have been battling back and forth. These games have been so close it could go either way unless the refs take over the game and one team gets way more PP's. I think these teams are capable of having a Bruins vs Tampa game 7 where no penalties were called and it was probably the best hockey game I've seen post lockout.

Questionable.
I don't think this game is going to be as easy as you think. Caps will come out determined and hungry. Time for some game over action tonight I think.
I'd also watch out for the vengeance Backstrom will come with for game 5. I expect him to be a big factor upon his return. - blondinwrx
nope i'm an a-hole.
but where did i say the game was going to be easy? i just think holtby is starting to show his lack of experience. any team with ovechkin on it is to be taken very seriously.

Ridiculous. Besides the first game which we lost, shots have been even. You can say the same thing about Thomas. All 1 goal games. - Blackstrom2
You could, but we weren't talking about the Bruins were we, I never said Thomas wasn't a big part of why we are leading. We finally got some puck luck on the gwg by Chara last game. I wasn't trying to dis you guys, I was trying to give you credit for changing your style of play and Holtby has been a big part of that.

and what is "game over action"? - Fountain-San
Game over action a cross check to the face after the game is over. Or maybe Ovechkin hitting Peverly in the corner while he's tied up with two other guys as the buzzer sounds. Just a guess.
Like I said before, this game is a toss up unless one team gets way more PP's than the other.

No knuble,??? too bad, always like to see an old friend. This is a desperation move by the Caps. They need more scoring touch, not more sticks flying around. Looch was hacked as much as he hacks, theres balance there.
What really worries me is our bottom D. I hold my breath every time Corvo's out there. And paired with Zanon....
