Yes I'm fine with it! On second thought, Hagelin should be suspended!

The rangers, Boyle had it coming after punching karlisson. In comparison, how would they feel if Neil started jabbing gaborik in the face? I get it playoffs are tough, but karlisson wasn't even near the scrum when Boyle jumped him

preds, also had it coming after what Weber did.

I didn't see the blues and sharks game so I don't now what's with that

Shanaban needs to level some nasty suspensions after yesterday. Set the bar. The game is not supposed to be a street brawl. Carkner needs to be gone for the playoffs. Hagelin atleast 1 game.

i'll understand if carkner gets a game, he probably deserved it. that being said, i have NO PROBLEM with what he did. boyle was acting all tough with 180lb karlsson the game before, and when carkner squared up with him, he wanted nothing to do with him. if you're gonna play tough with the smaller players, and then turtle against someone your own size, you deserve to get your ass kicked.

hagelin will definately get suspended. it was a deliberate elbow to the head, and it caused an injury. it's as cut and dry as you can get.

If Hagelin gets suspended, Carker is probably going to get suspended as well.

man, you got your poop backwards. hagelin gets more than carkner. carkner squared up with boyle, and gave him a couple of seconds to drop his gloves. he should have let it go at that point, but it's not like he was hitting an unsuspecting and defenseless player. hagelin elbowed alfi in the head, at full speed, and caused an injury. if anythng, carkner gets 1, hagelin gets 2-3

The NHL has done extensive market testing on how to sell their product in the US. They have discovered that the average sports fan finds violence and threats of violence to be the most engaging element of the sport.

If skill players go down, that's okay because it might get them on the ESPN highlight reel and the average sports fan might tune into the next episode - I mean game - to see how things turn out.

The NHL is turning into wrestling.

The problem is the way the game is officiated.

Let the player police themselves. In the last game Boyle did a very similar thing to Karrlson and nothing was called. Carkner was doing his job.

The officiating, including shanaban, is a joke.

^^ This. Carkner probably could have let off when they were both laying on the ice haha. But Hagelin, IMO deserves a slightly harsher punishment. Might be just my Sens goggles talking though.

Boyle had his arms at his side when Carkner unloads on him. It's against code, you wait for both pairs of gloves to be dropped.

On second thought, Hagelin needs to get atleast 5 games. It's pretty deliberate and caused injury.

Carkner-Yes, Boyle is a chicken. Man up. But he'll get a Shannaban

Hagelin-Precident has been set, he'll get at least a game.

Burns-He'll get a game.

Galiardi-Might get a game, but McDonald has to keep his head up.

The Sharks/Blues Brawl-That was fun to watch. Not sure about the Sobotka punch. Although Moore likes to get involved in pushing and shoving matches despite his gloves seemingly being glued on. Probably deserved it.

Shaw/Smith-Not sure, I thought when a player had been knocked out that he is supposed to go to the quiet room. Does that not apply to goalies or was their some "Look how hurt I am" while the refs discuss whether it's a minor or a major.

Boyle was giving Karlsson some noogies and both players were engaged. Carkner unloaded haymakers, 7 or 8 of them in a row to a defenseless player.

Boyle had every opportunity to defend himself and he chose not to, I'm fine with five and a game for Carkner.

You do realize what carkner did was a total mugging?

I have no problem with taking Boyle to task, but what he did is uncalled for. Carkner in no way squared up with Boyle. Look at the video again. I still haven't seen the haglien elbow so I won't comment on it.

yes, well the code also says that if you're a "tough" guy and mess with skilled players half your size, you're gonna have to answer to the tough guy on the other team. if boyle had simply dropped his gloves and answer for what he did, then we're not having this discussion. instead, he acted like a giant pu$$y in front of the entire hockey world, and got his ass kicked as a result.

he did square up with him. he gave him a couple seconds to drop his gloves, and when he didnt', he pounded him. i'm not saying what carkner did was right, but boyle had a chance to be a willing combatant and he didn't take it. carkner probably should have let up, but it doesn't change the fact that boyle got what he deserved.

Yeah makes complete sense. Boyle will punch Karlsson a bunch of times, but when gets challenged runs away. Karlsson couldn't defend himself, and neither could Boyle.
And the miss matches were clear for each incident.

this ^^

and it really says something about boyle that he's actually hugely mismatched against a guy smaller than him.

Boyle is no tough guy. DO you watch any rangers games? Boyle had 3 fights in the regular season and one was an instigator for the opponent.

WTF Eklund. Did you watch hockey in the 70's and 80's? I cant tell you there was a lot worse than that on a more common basis. This lack of respect talk is b.s from old players who are jealous of the skill in the new players.
