I think LA will absolutely give Vancouver fits. LA can be physical with their forwards, have a fantastic goalie, and have played in one goal games all year long so they will be comfortable doing so in the playoffs. That said, LA absolutely will need Quick to outduel Luongo. But if Luongo lets in a softie or two, which is, really, the only way the series gets to 7 games, he'll be on the bench in favor of Schneider. Love LA's chances, but I am not sure they can pull it off, especially if Carter isn't healthy.

Also, everyone is predicting the Nash-Det series to go 7 games. Personally, I think Nashville will roll the Red Wings. This is the Predators' time and they know it. Feels a bit like the Jordan-era Bulls finally overcoming the Pistons. Nashville is bigger, younger, stouter in their own end, and has the edge in goaltending. I think Detroit's age and lack of physicality will haunt them. Nashville is built for the playoffs. This series really looks like an official passing of the torch to me (assuming Weber and Suter stick around Nashville). Preds in 5.

I get that Quick is a great goaltender, buy everyone is seriously underestimating his supporting cast. The Kings' have been in the top half of the league in scoring since the Jeff Carter trade, as our lineup is much more balanced now.

Oh, and we weren't second in GAA just because of our goaltender. Our defense was stellar.

With that said, Kings in 7 on an OT goal by Mike Richards.

Schneider is in absolutely no way > Quick.

What worries me is if Vignault gets tired of Luongo's usual playoff choke and allows Schneider to establish himself in a playoff atmosphere, while the Kings struggle to find goals.

Avoid these scenarios and yes, the Kings could very well pull off what would be a much celebrated upset for all hockey fans not living in Vancouver.

I agree with you, but if the Kings pull it off it will be because of Quick.

Well I guess it is good thing Van has Schnieder to take over if Luongo craps the bed. No way is LA going to beat canucks. Canucks are to deep at all positions.

Nucks will beat Kings in 6. Quick will stand on his head to be sure. But Vancouver will make the rest of the team look as bad as they are.

I'm tired with all this 'LA can't score enough to win" nonsense. First of all, since the Carter trade we have one of the top teams in scoring, even with him injured we have been scoring. Secondly, what has happened in the regular season means NOTHING! As far as I'm concerned these 2 teams are equal right now, along with every other team in the playoffs.

Since the trade deadline, of the western teams in the playoffs, Kings were 2nd in offense, 2nd in defense, and first in win percentage. Canucks were 8th in offense, 3rd in defense, and tied for 3rd in win percentage (with St Louis). Kings also had the top goal differential. Granted either were missing 1/2 the Sedins and Carter for stretches, but I think this will be closer than many think.

I think at the very least the Kings will make it interesting. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat vancouver either.

I hate the Detroit-Nashville series. I wanted both teams to do well One last run for Lidstrom and Nashville made a lot of moves for a deep run. WOuld love to see a small market team like the preds go deep.

Yeah, that's why 8th seeds win 1/16th of the Stanley Cups handed out, because all team are equal. It's like a lottery.

Quick's playoff numbers are quite poor. He's never come up big on the big stage and I don't see that changing now. The Kings are a much worse team than the both in high end talent and in quality of depth. They're going to catch a beating in this one.
