Comingout of junior, I liked Bogosian more than Doughty. Bogosian had intangibles that I loved in a D. He was mean, he had offense, he had spark and he was sound. Injuries hampered this poor kid, but I think the player I knew he was is starting to show. Doughty's rookie season left an inprint on a lot of people though but when its all said and done, I still feel like there will be a debate as to who became the better D. We'll see. The funny thing is, Pietrangelo was the next one taken. Karlsson and Myers as well. Don't think you could do wrong with any of the above.

@Lohaus I loved how Bogo played when they went up against LA this year - he seemed to have that mean streak you were talking about, and made a point of playing Daughty (sp?) strong when they matched up a couple times.

Shows the difference that a good defense coach (Huddy) can make.

if that team had any conceptual CLUE how to win on the road they'd walk away with that sorry assed division full of 8th-15th place wannabes. Washington's run rough shod with very little talent besides Green, Ovechkin, and Backstrom, and a pisspoorly assembled team of lousy players dressed up in designer duds, but still with a face and brain only well not any mother could love, and this Jets team is much more balanced then any of those lipstick on a pig Caps teams. Unfortunately next season under new alignment (after Bettman MAKES it one of his "ABSOLUTES" for the new CBA), being in a weak divsion will not help these Jets as they will suddenly be thrust into probably the toughest divsion in hockey....What coulda been "scary good" this year will be paramount to deadlast and near the nhl basement next year having to face Nashville, Chicago, Stlouis etcc 6-8 times a year....

I think the franchise has to look at balancing their defensive pairings a little more.

I would love to see all the puck-moving defensemen paired with stay-at-home guys......seems to make sense. Unfortunately, they are lacking in the stay-at-home department.

Imagine if you could pair Stuart with Byfuglien. Flood with Bogosian (even though Flood does have offensive potential, he is smart enough to stay home), and pair Hainsey with a defensively responsible D-man you pick up in the off-season.

This leaves Enstrom as the odd man out. Which is fine......perhaps you could parlay a pick and Enstrom into a forward or top-end pick.

One thing is for sure. The pairing of Enstrom and Byfuglien is a nightmare. Too often it leaves Pavelec having to make a save on yet another breakaway.

This off season will be very interesting, and I for one can't wait to see how it all turns out.

I think if Enstrom were available, a lot of teams would be interested. PP QB's who move the puck like he does are not that easy to acquire. The real downside though, in my opinion, is I think it wouldn't take long before the Jets realized that perhaps dealign him wasn't a good move. Maybe slide him to the third pair and find a more adequate partner for him to play with that insulates him?

I tend to disagree. The Jets do not have a great deal of quality talent that they would be willing to deal. One thing they have quite a bit of is puck-moving-defensmen. Hainsey makes too much to be traded. Byfuglien is not going anywhere, nor is Bogosian or Stuart.

The Jets lack forward depth and the only way they will be able to acquire that depth is to deal Enstrom in my opinion. Either that, or get a pick with him. Let Flood or Clitsome take Enstrom's place in the line up and add some more pices to your front end.

I don't disagree with the idea that five on five, you could be better but I think Enstrom brings something that Byfulgien and Bogosian (even though I like him a lot) don't bring. Both are cannons, but neither is a slick play maker who moves along the blueline and shifts bodies to open those lanes. They both kind of stand there, wait for a pass and unload if there. Clitsome is a kid I was absolutely shocked that Columbus let go, I find him to be a very useful player so adding him to your bottom pairing will be good, its just that aspect of the PP I'd be concerned about. Also, the Jets have the forwards in place who could easily translate into what you need. Ladd, Kane, Wheeler, Little, Antrosuck, and Burmistrov are all top 6 forwards, either as is or will be soon. Adding in Scheiffle, who has everything you want to the mix rounds out a good crew. There isn't that top end scorer, I suppose you could say Kane is, but Enstrom and a pick won't get that guy either.

I actually like the set up of the Jets as is, they just need time, they had their feelign out year with moving to Winnipeg, and someone to kick them in the nuts when they are on the road.

Kane will be a 40-goal guy before too long, maybe as early as next season. As far as not getting that top notch pick from Enstrom, you are right, but you could deal the jets 1st round pick and Enstrom to Edmonton for their 1st round pick. Then you might be able to pick up that top-notch forward that might be able to make an impact in a few years or even less.
