Don't care how the season ends - I care that they get playoff mentality when the playoffs start.

I second that!!! Assuming no injuries and back at 100%

You can not convince me that Tootoo or Yip are more defensively responsible than Wilson (if that is still the knock Trotz has on the kid).

Not sure if we'll see Wilson tonight. 5th line with Smith and Tootoo at practice yesterday.

Sigh!

EDIT: I'd really like to know what the problem is between Wilson and Trotz. One of our most talented, most offensively gifted players can't crack the lineup over Yip or Tootoo?

I will be going tonight... My first game in awhile. How has Goose been working out for Nashville?

He's definitely made a difference. Takes all the important defensive zone face-offs and for good reason. He usually wins them. A very solid contributor.

EDIT: Just found this blog about Gaustad at OtF.

This will be a Peverley all over again once he gets traded or makes it through next season... only difference is Wilson is way more talented than Peverley and look what he did playing on a top line in Atlanta.

He is an RFA, but I bet he only goes for one year deal if he is not traded at the draft.

Well, now we know how Trotz will give Pekka some rest.

Oh, it'll be worse than that. Wilson will Tear... It... Up on another team. I think he'll make it nearly impossible for Poile to re-sign him. Why should he play his ass off every season only to have Trotz bench him at the most important time? My guess is he won't want to go through another season like this or last season again.

For whatever reason, Trotz has Wilson on an incredibly short leash. Shorter than anyone else on the team I'd say.

This just kills me, because it is so true. Wilson came out like gang busters this year, and Trotz stills squashes him at the end of the season. I wish someone would enlighten us to what the issue is here. I had high hopes that Wilson would be a great up and coming player for the Preds, but it looks like we'll lose him and he'll be a great player for another team. Guess he just has a problem with Trotzie's system! Yip -- 5 pts in 22 games, -1? Tootoo, -4?? Spaling, 20 pts in 74 games, -11??? Wilson, 34 pts in 67 games, +3. So how is Trotz making the decision to bench him?

What I find really strange about the Wilson situation lately is that no one in or near the inside is saying anything. There's not even any punditry or speculation that I can find from credentialed media or bloggers who are not constrained by the Preds in any way. The silence is kind of odd. Meanwhile, we remain in the dark.

I dont have a problems with Spals playing... he is a defensive forward he pretty much takes Smithsons place. He seems to be playing his role effectively at this point.

Its must be the behind bench stuff we dont see such as practice, team meeetings, ect. Maybe Wilson doesnt put forther the effort in those areas? I can see where it would be hard to play a guy who acts like he doesnt give a crap if someone else is giving 100% in all areas on an off the ice.

The main problem I see with not playing him game after game is it killing his confidence. He may start gripping the stick too tight when he does play and possibly make mistakes. Then benched again...

No one wants to question the Predators because they'll find their access revoked. I've heard it from more than one person. You have to play the game as a blogger or you won't get your credentials. That's why no one will ask about Wilson.

I wish the Predators would control their image with the public at large as well as they do with the blogger community.

I hate journalist. But when one finally gets to the balls to go actually do real reporting without twisting words, they risked ruining their career.

I really thought Wilson was the future of the Predator hockey. When they cleaned house last year, why did they keep him around? To bench him in the playoffs again!?

Spaling is Legwand 2.0

He was on the first line to start the season. Wilson/Legwand/Hornqvist were our best line early on. I have no idea what he did to get demoted to the third line with Spaling and Tootoo or why he can't even crack the lineup now.

What Trotz is really saying is "we are going to rest up Pekka at least 2 of the remaining games, which essentially means we concede 4th spot to Detroit"
