im hoping shane obrien comes back next year! hunwick has played well but i would rather elliot or barrie in the line up! lets go with:

Johnson - Elliot
Obrien - Barrie
Obyrne - Hedja

and if the Avs win its a major plus cause they do have a chance but well need help from other teams! but let the kids play!!!

But id say sacco well let them sit again since he is a brilliant coach and he might even put porter and kobasew in for Landdy and O'Rielly hahaha

Considering the owners, I really doubt it'll happen.

another thing is they can try to spend big money this summer, but why would a big time free agent want to come play for joe sacco? the avs have a pretty good team and if they could play consistiant they would be in the playoffs! they need a more offensive minded coach. . . sacco needs time in the ahl to prefect his game! they avs well be in the same boat next year unless sacco changes!

speaking of forks, like's like you've already stuck a fork in the Avs season??? WHY????? Thje canucks will dent Dallas tonight, eliminate Calgary tomorrow, and LA will probably spilt the Edmonton Minny games. All you have to do is show up in Calgary tonight, skate hard and FAST, then cruise over Columbus, and have the best game of the year at HOME against Nashville. No problimo, plus you match up against St.Louis very well so you might even get a 2nd round date against Vancouver....

i think they got a shot to make it , there fate is in the hands of other teams and there are still a few games where dallas, san jose, LA all play each other just need it to play out in our favor. if we get to nashville and its win and ur in you got to think nashville is going to sit some players so they dont get hurt! i really think that cbj could be our killer in all of this! easy to look past them and come out soft!

were still in it!!! GO AVS GO!!!

Can we trade O'Byrne and keep Wilson. I really like his overall game compared to O'Byrne.

Keep all 8 dman - injuries will happen.

If you get rid of any of these eight then you'll be scrambling for help and make a dumb move. Its not like we dont have the CAP space.

Elliot and Barrie should continue in the AHL - they are not ready for prime time, and whats the rush, they are only 21 ! ! ! !

IMHO as far as forwards go, only the following should be kept.

O'Reilly - Duchene - Landeskog - Olver - Mueller - Downie - McGinn and JayMc

thats 8, you wanna improve this team, then move the remaining contracts to improve this team, and let the Pending UFA's walk.

A big key is IF they can move Stastny - he's proven he cant be the Franchise Player, so lets cut our loses and move on

they need to do something on D.. They don't have a legitimate top 2 D-Man.. Plus they could have used some PP offense from the point in the last couple games that Barrie and Elliot could provide

Behind those, the Avs do have Gaunce as well. Don't forget about him.

If we trade Stastny, it'll have to be for a top 3-4 dman or a scoring threat.

I also wonder if Brad Malone will be on the Avs next year. Assuming he prepares well in the offseason, he could be a good fourth line center, moving Olver to win and McClement to third line duties which he was great at when Duchene was hurt.

Love Landy-O'Reilly-Downie. Love your second line. Olver, McClement and _____ with Walker/Van der Gulik (really impressed this year in fourth line role), Malone and Kobasew isn't terrible.

The only gap in that is there isn't a proven 30-40 guy. Duchene, Mueller or McGinn could work as that but there's no guarantee.

Hmm I like this better.. IMO

Stastny centering Parise and Jones
O'Reilly centering Landy and Downie
Duchene centering McGinn and Mueller
JayMc centering Olver and Malone

With Hejduk leaving Jones won't be going anywhere unless we sign two UFAs. I doubt management pins their hopes on Hishon or Sgrabossa making the club next year. Especially after what happened this year with Hishon.

There is enough possibly available No. 2s on D in free agency that we don't need to trade Stastny for that.

I think I seen it on Hockeynews when they did a piece on this years top UFA D.

Yeah and Jackman would be an awesome Veteran for the blue line. Him or Stuart.. I get the situation with Stuart wanting to be on the west coast, but we could be the closest he would get and still have a shot at 5M per. None of those teams look like they could fit another 5M D next year..

With the possibility of us being in a conference with all the west coast teams we would be over there a lot. So that's my order of preference on the possible upcoming UFA D class.

Jackman is going to be a UFA, I looked it up. Suter still my pick though, just because of how dynamic he is.
