The "hockey establishment" does not care for, or about the Panthers other than to write stories with vague rumours about relocation or financial failure, with the occasional shot taken about how they do not deserve the 3rd spot with 87 pnts.
Too many fans of certain teams, considering themselves hockey's "elite" love to also take shots at the Panthers rather than give credit where it is due or look in their own mirror, unfortunately for the bulk of decent Leafs fans, most of these folk are indeed Leafs fans.
some facts.
1) The Panthers have 15 points in their last 10 games. Only 2 other teams have as many points in their last 10- Buffalo (16), and Pittsburgh (15). (thanks litterboxcats)
2)Excluding OT numbers, the Panthers have 24 losses, fewer than EVERY team in the Northeast. The Panthers are 6-10 in the friggin shootout.
3) The Panthers have more points than EVERY team in the Northeast except Boston.
This team went from a lottery pick to a playoff race in one season with only one rookie playing on the team. We are in the playoff race without any other of our future stars being thrown into the mix from our last two drafts --ala: Edmonton. And the fans have begun coming back out, with an average paid attendance of 16,500 +, for 21st best in the league.
This season has been a lot of fun so far, its fun to be a Panthers fan again, keep it up guys!
