For whatever reason Tampa Bay is our new New Jersey. Even before the puck dropped last night I had a bad feeling.

Well said, Bill.

Some ugly turnovers. But those are just anomalies. I'd much rather lose that way, than because of a lack of effort.

So. WIP reported that Bryz was limping noticeably after the game last night. What is the story on that?

I thought it would be a 7-1 game for the Flyers going in but Rollie's going through his Swan Song. getting a chance to say something with 10 games til retirement.

Well in good news, my hockey team won game uno of the mens league championship! We did it in Flyers fashion by blowing a 5-2 lead in the third. Final 7-5!

Carle took his eye off the puck at the most inopportune time while stickhandling, Bryzgalov turned in anticipation of Carle going behind the net, and Wyman (he of one prior NHL goal) was paying enough attention to get a whack at it. Brutal, but it happens.

It's the cute crap that bothers me. They'll need to stop that, and quickly, if they''re going to go anywhere in the post-season.

I dont get the behind the back passes.. the 50ft through 3 defender and around a boulder pass. I dont get guys like Simmonds trying to dangle. I dont get the PP give it to the last man and let him stick handle through the most crowded blue line in the history of blue lines.

That is way more frustrating than a stupid mistake by Carle.

Couldnt agree more. The PP was terrible last night for the Flyers. I still dont understand why this team is so carless with the puck (on the PP). The breakaways for the opposition while on the PP needs to stop.

Wasn't Carle responcible for the turnover that lead to Malone's goal too? Poor game by Carle last night. I know good players have bad nights, but Carle doesn't do a single thing so good that I think I have to spend 5+ million on him. He has a solid all around game, but doesn't excel at any 1 thing.

The reason they did that, is to draw the 4 back checkers to the center of the ice so they can dump it off to an open wing and set up in the offensive zone. I dont have any problem with this... Its a good tatic to beat the 0-4-1.

Im talking on the PP. Never build up speed and then stop. You have three guys moving forward toward the offensive zone... all then stop at the blue line and (crosses fingers) hope that the last man can stick handle his way into the zone. Briere showed exactly how flawed that can be last night.

Too much stickhandling in the neutral zone. The Flyers have to do a better job of moving the puck and creating lanes.

As much as I like Danny Briere and the game he played against the Canadiens, he is the reason this game was a loss. He was -3 and was the cause of the first two goals. He really needs to get his head on straight before the playoffs. Maybe he needs another fight - and hattrick.

It was really evident that Bryzgalov was dealing with something last night. He wasn't aggressive, and on the Malone and St Louis goals, he went down in the butterfly early. Hopefully, he's not too badly injured, but as blogger Matt Bridigi noted last night he definitely got nicked in the warm-ups.

That said, it's hard to blame Bryzgalov for any of the goals.

There were more guys than Matt Carle that had bad games. Carle's mistakes were the most obvious, but there were a lot of mental errors that hurt the Flyers last night.

Yup. Briere has to be better with the puck in that situation. His turnover caused the breakaway.
