WOW...what a sad sack this once storied franchise has become! It's embarassing to be honest. I understand there are a lot of underlying issues, but when will it end?
What's next you say. Well, another lottery pick...I guess. |

Does your memory forget when the Canucks were once a sad sack franchise?
OH maybe your to young, but Nucks fans only come out when your team is winning. Which you had more losing seasons then most. But us Isles fans support an come out no-matter what...
If it's not for the Swedish sisters, Bure,Molgilny,an even having Messier, Canucks have no clue what winning is, |

I think this is a great ploy to get the Isles out of the Arena.
Whoever came up with this angle is a genius.
This puts alot of pressure on the politicians, and is a black eye for them.
It's all good!!!
The cost of abatement will be millions... it's a big money grab.
I say knock it down, and rebuild or move them to Brooklyn.
This is the best news I've had today.
This should even cheer up all the Negative Nellies on this board... |

I dont get all the trolls who talk against the Islanders. Maybe it was 4 cups in a row we won or that we will always go down in history as being better then these God awful teams these guys root for who knows, but to each his own.
As for the Colliseum no shocker there. Who knows whate other diseases lurk in that building. I think just knock it down rebuild it the simpliest solution. |

You never know, because the people in this organization march to the beat of their own very crazy drums, but I don't see why Ratner would go on the Isles' broadcast the other night extolling the virtues of playing in Brooklyn if there wasn't anything to the idea of the Isles going there. Obviously Wang knew Ratner would be on the broadcast making his pitch, and I don't think Ratner would take the time out to go to Nassau and do the interview if there was nothing at all to the Brooklyn stuff.

I think it's just sad that this team, who is really close to being a contender, is in the situation it's in. As a Ranger fan I obviously hate them lol, but the ownership before Wang came around just screwed the team in to the ground and it doesn't look like there's a way out of it. I wonder if there is a way to abandon Nassau and move to Suffolk and pay whatever penalty they would have to, would hate to see this team anywhere but the Island |

I personally think the worst move this team could make is to Suffolk. However if it's the absolute last and ONLY option in keeping them local, fine. |

The area they talked about, Pilgrim state, I don't think would be so bad it's not too far out and it's in between Southern state and the LIE off of the Sag, and only about 25 minutes from the Coliseum, wouldn't be terrible and a few more tax dollars out here lol |

It's really the only logical place to put an arena around here. You (and me bc I live so close) could argue up by the CI courthouses, near the Ducks stadium, but I'm not sure there's enough room over there.
I'm not sure how the arena, as much as I'd like it to, would work at Pilgrim. There are still a couple of buildings in use there. But there are so many abandoned sh !tholes too, it's really the perfect spot. You'd have to overhaul roads coming in and out of there majorly though, they're hardly wide enough to fit two cars in some spots. |

There's actually a good number of Ranger fans, yourself included, that can come in here and have an intelligent conversation without spewing idiocy. But there's always exceptions to the rule |

If the asbestos issue is bad enough to let Wang break the lease, the team will be gone from New York. That lease is the only thing preventing other potential buyers from making offers on the franchise to Wang. If the lease is a non-factor, expect lots of offers from buyers to take the team off Wang's hands, buyers from other areas that will move team out of New York. |

I think there is something to the Brooklyn possibility, but as BD Gallof said, Wang's going to need profit assurances, some kind of deal with the arena that will guarantee that he will make a profit from moving the team there. If he doesn't get that, there's no way he's rolling the dice on moving the team to Bklyn and being a tenant again with no guarantee that he'll make money. He'd be better off moving the team somewhere like Quebec or selling to someone else. |
