Entertaining game, I still can't believe Nashville had that goal waved off, terrible call but I'll take it. As for the draft I don't think the Oilers can go wrong whether they go for D or forward. The Oilers have lots of D prospects already but likely only 1 with top pair potential, their forward prospects are the ones lacking now. If Hemsky can play more games like he played tonight that would be one more reason to draft D.

Agree on not signing Smyth. Unless we can get him for one year 2 mill he can pound salt. His mins would be better served on Hartikainen or Mps. Can't help but compare the Oil to Colorado in the sense that they finished in the lottery last year and are now in the thick of things. If the Oil can land a top 4 D man and a half ass goalie we will be in the hunt next season. Also I would like to take this time to point out how bad Toronto and Calgary's teams are looking down the stretch. All these fans were ripping on us for our alleged prolonged rebuild. Its looking more and more like we are doing it right and they are doing wrong. You can't build a contender through FA. I just hope it takes them a few more years to figure it out. We'll be winning cups and they'll be winning the lottery.

Getting scoring from unexpected sources is hardly a problem.

Nash got their make up calls and goal. More than Edmonton got after that travesty of a waved off goal against Colorado earlier this year.

i agree with the smyth not getting signed as well.. until and unless we get him for 2mil/year that would be perfect! but i do feel hartikainen can play on the third line instead of pajaarvi because even when pajaarvi played on his last stint.. he did pretty well and that was because he was paired up with Hemsky.. i feel he can also learn the role of clearing up space for hemsky and at the same time grabbing the rebounds because hemsky seems to create a lot of those!!

Speaking of Preds fans. I really like the Preds team but the crowd in their arena does this thing, which I don't know if it's something they're told to do via jumbotron or what, where when they score, the crowd shouts "YOU SUCK." Uhm. Sure your team just scored after getting 100 goals scored against them, but yeah, the other opponents with the 100 goals and Stanley Cups are the ones that suck. I see the logic in that.

This alone makes it hard for me to wish the Preds success.
