Wow, rough stretch for the Wings. After a spectacular 1st half of the season Howard is starting to look like he's made of glass. Clearly the guy wasn't fully recovered from the initial groin injury. Might be best to get him off the ice entirely for the next couple weeks, bringing him in for the final 3-4 games leading up to the playoffs.

as an avid red wings fan i am starting to worry. we can't go anywhere with conklin. he couldn't stop a beach ball even if it was the only thing on the ice! let's hope lidstrom and franzen are back soon and helm comes back sooner than later. plus hopefully howard's injury is just a "tweak" and nothing serious! or we are in trouble....

Another hole in the CBA that will need to address.

I get that teams need players, but imo breaking the rules like this should not be allowed.

I would like to see the NHL have a non-team dr. decide whether howard couldn't backup. This seems like a very convenient way to get Conklin through waivers without getting claimed.

the same goes for the Flames and keeping Bartschi up for 2 weeks because apparently they have no players.

And don't even get me started on Radulov
way to many loopholes in the CBA

Have you even seen Conklin play this season? Who the hell wants him? He cleared waivers on the way down. I'd feel just as safe with a poor McCollum starting. To say this is a ploy to recall Conklin is ludicrous. You are way off on Conklin.

Well ... Bruins are stuck with Marty (frank)ing Turco

Would he be able to play at all for another team? I'm confused a bit by the post TD rules.

just get in the playoffs and it will be what it will be.

I think half of us were hesitant about a deep run anyways, but if they can at least flirt with .500% we may get past 4 games.

what a train wreck this injury situation is.

Are Canucks fans/writers really that worried about the Preds to be making this a daily discussion? I mean honestly...does this team threaten you that much to care about them adding a Russian defector who has played in what most people consider an NHL beer league for the past 4 years? I see very little coming from other teams on this subject. Sure, some other fans/writers think it is crap...but the Canucks seem so bent on lingering on it. Get over it. You guys are still the favorites to win the West.

Just keeps getting better and better. What next, Lidstrom will come back so Zetterberg and Filppula can get injured or Datsyuk gets re-injured.

Train wreck is the best way to describe it... this team is playing like crap and limping into the playoffs. I didn't expect this team to make past the second round since Holland has still not addressed the needs of this team (need more size & grit)... but now a first round loss is likely.

Well, at least Conks has been playing well and a lot down in Grand Rapids. He might not be as good as he was a few years ago when he took the reins from Ozzy, but wouldnt be surpised to see him play better than he did earlier in the season. This game likely wont come down to how well he plays anyway as the rest of the team is in one hell of a slump. On the bright side, last time they did this poorly they followed it up with a 20+ game home winning streak.
