2011 5th round pick John Persson is headed to Bridgeport (I believe on a PTO), whether he gets in any games or not is another story. He had 56 points in 67 games with Red Deer, that team was decimated with injuries and played a lot of games with only 15 kids dressed. He's listed at 6'2" 211lbs.

I say the opposite... send all eligible players to Bridgeport for their playoff run.

Scrap the last ten games, and hope for the best lottery pick they can get.

It hopes both teams.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but I hope it is. The only reason I'd want them to lose the games down the stretch is to hopefully get Cappy out of here. If they play well he'll definitely be back. Something tells me he'll be back either way but I digress.

I'm not thrilled about Capuano either, but at some point, you have to look at the players. The Islanders keep firing coaches and nothing changes. So firing or not firing Capuano will not help this team win; it will be irrelevant. Until the team has some talent, through prospects, free agency, trade, or whatever else, firing the coach will do nothing.

Have you read my posts the last three weeks?
I hope we get thoroughly trashed every game left. The more of a poopshow we put on, HOPEFULLY, the more of a glaring spotlight gets put on the need for some changes.
The one thing I do hope, is that the Tavares line continues to flourish. HE is the only reason any UFA would sign here. Well, that a poopload of money.

How much you wanna bet if they're "respectable" down the stretch, ol' moneybags will retain him? It's cheaper that way.

Do you watch the games?

The guy is not an NHL coach. Plain and simple. He doesn't even know when his players need a timeout. No excuses. The team regularly doesn't show up to important games, etc, I'm not going on.

I have to agree with your statement. We exemplify the term "Mickey Mouse Organization," as it was coined by Wayne Gretzky.

Yes, I do watch the games. I also watched the games under Scott Gordon. And Ted Nolan. And Peter Laviolette. Firing Capuano and bringing in another coach will not make this team win games. Having better players on the team will help them win games. Not having Steve Staios, Mark Eaton, and Milan Jurcina on the blue line will help them win games. Maybe getting some secondary scoring once in a while will help them win games. Replacing Capuano with someone else is a sideways move. So, while I said I'm not thrilled with Capuano either, I don't really care if he's fired or not because it won't make our defense tighter or our offense more prolific.

So if you agree that the Islanders can't attract a better coach, stop whining about how they need to fire Capuano.

You compared Capuano to legitimate NHL coaches....that's where you lost me. I didn't agree with them firing Gordon, losing streak or not. 178 is right, who wants to lead this poopshow? They need a coach who's NHL caliber, plain and simple. This team couldn't crack .500 with Capuano as their coach. I'd rather Weight or any of their other assistants coach, I feel they at least get respect from the players.

Continuity, baby!!!
Just the kind of fan Wang wants. Congrats! Keep buying those tickets....

And for the record, Ted Nolan took a much worse team with (frank)ing Wade Dubleiwitz (sp) as their starting goalie to the playoffs. That team had no business being a playoff team...it's called coaching.

I love how you say on one hand that they should fire Capuano, but then also say they won't be able to get a better coach. So you are saying they should trade one coach for an equally-inept coach. So if someone comes over to me and offers me a nickel for a nickel, should I accept?

Dubie only started at the end of the season, and that was a MUCH better team than this is. Are you serious? That team made the playoffs because they were good; this team, with Ted Nolan, would not be a playoff team. When the Islanders have a GOOD TEAM and are READY TO WIN, then you find the coach that fits. And for the record, I don't live in NY, haven't in years, so I haven't bought an Islanders ticket in a while.

Doug Weight > Capuano, any day of the week. It's obvious the players have little respect for Capuano. The Tavares grabbing the chalkboard thing, might not seem like much, but, wow, who does that to the head coach. Weight or even Scott Allen make a lot more sense to me on a lot of levels.

First, Wang has to break mold, and try to overpay to get a coach here. Keenan or Murray would be a good start. Capuano cannot be the coach next year.

People said that SAME THING about Capuano when Gordon was fired. Replacing Capuano will have NO EFFECT until you add talent to this team. So it's irrelevant whether or not they fire him. Doesn't matter until they add talent. If they somehow make big strides this off-season, then I'm all for finding a better coach. But until this team has a defense that doesn't have STAIOS, EATON, and JURCINA on it, and has some scoring that's not JT or Moulson, it really doesn't matter who the coach is.

So then that's not an indication on Capuano- that shows disrespect on JT's part. And I've also seen players do that plenty of times, so stop overreacting about nothing. Scott Allen?? Who the F is that? You think he's going to win with this team LOL Mike Keenan? Until this team is ready to win, Mike Keenan is not coming here, and the Islanders shouldn't pay a coach huge money until they're ready to win.

You're kidding me, right? The talent level on this team is exponentially higher than that team and the goalie play has been higher. Nolan's team always came out to play. They laid a stinker every now and then. Capuano's team lay a stinker every 3rd game. Yeah, yeah, I know the players play the game, but c'mon. For it to happen as much as it has this season, is on the coach and it's unacceptable.

Not me....I called it Scott Striling part 2 right from the beginning.

We'll have to agree to disagree because I'm not getting into an Internet pissing match with you. Capuano is not a NHL caliber coach. The continuity you guys speak of is 5 straight bottom 5 seasons. Sorry, I'm 35, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of this time of year meaning poop.

Hahahaha omg. This is over if you think this team is better than that last playoff team. Stop using cliche phrases like "came out to play"; these Islanders come out to play every night. Not Capuano's fault half their defense (3 out of 6 players) should not be in the NHL. Or that after JT, Moulson, or PAP, no other forward has cracked 40 points. What I'm saying is, Capuano may not be a legit NHL coach, but replacing him NOW would be a sideways move because the team would still suck. When the team is ready to win, THEN replace Capuano and pay the extra money for a big time coach. But its irrelevant now.

Well then you have not met me. Hi I am Kasperrko and let me say something JAck sucks. They guy has no idea how to set lines and use his players strengths. He also has no clue what a time out is. He has no answers for his team and this team is never ready to play. So yeah a new coach who is going to kisk these guys asses is needed hands down. If Wanger and Snow cant figure taht out and Captain Jack is back nextg year then forget it. Also DP needs to be hit in the head with a puck. i would resign Rolston just for that. If he is in net then next year will be a lost year
