Marian Gaborik is the best skater in the NHL. Hall still expends a tremendous amount of energy while accomplishing little. As he becomes a more efficient player, he'll become an even better player. |

Hall accomplishes little? - Maxbone
Could have worded that better... What I mean is that I have seen him repeatedly pick up the puck and skate Damn hard to... uh... Circle around the perimeter. It's just a thing where there are little inefficiencies in his game that can be tightened up to make him an all around better player. It comes with being so young. He'll get it. |

It's not that they won, it's how they won. |

Hall plays like someone has lit him on fire. I don't think I want to see him lose that element of his game. Not many players play with the urgency Hall does. |

Cloutier what's with the sudden love affair with Forsberg? Like why do you suddenly think he's gonna be such a good fit with the Oil? |

It's finding the appropriate channel for that urgency that will make him more effective. |

1. He's Swedish and drafting top prospect Swedes seems to turn out well (see Landeskog).
2. He's not Russian. No KHL threat or unemotional play.
3. Not as risky as drafting a defenseman.
4. Oilers need size up front on their second line. A Gagner/Paajarvi/Forsberg line makes sense to me.
5. He's named Forsberg. Players with that name have a good history in the NHL. |

Agree with most of this. I think another benefit of going for Forsberg is the potential to trade down and acquire something else of value as well. |

Agreed.
I have this fantasy where the Oilers win the draft lotto, and deal the 1st for something like the 3rd or 4th pick and a "right now" player. And then they get Forsberg AND find a way to fill a different roster hole.
I also have a fantasy involving Mila Kunis. |

Faksa is a Landeskog clone, I'm more hoping we land him. Galchenyuk would be nice too. I'm just not sure I totally get the Forsberg hype. |
