Cam Gore: Flames need an extra frame to take down the Sharks

The playoffs have started early this year for the Sharks, and we all know how well they do in the playoffs.

The sinking continues and I just have a feeling that the team we are seeing now is a real team, is what we have right now. If that's the case it doesn't really matter if we make the playoffs or not, we'll be out in the first round. Sorry, I am not buying the just-make-it-and-anything-can-happen argument. Just look at this team play right now and if you think that in the playoffs something magical will happen just stop. Another mediocre road trip (1-1-2 this time) and now we are barely hanging on to #8 spot with just one game in hand on most teams. Nashville and Detroit are coming up.
I don't understand how this could have happened and I am sure nobody, and I mean NOBODY could have predicted this, even the most pessimistic of us.
I'll keep rooting and hoping though, that's why you are a fan.

Over the last month or so pretty much everything that could have gone wrong for the Sharks did go wrong. Let's just hope that this streak is about to end. Still almost one month until the playoffs begin.

I also thought that OT goal was close to offside.

The missed call on Stajan... the missed Demers punch that caused the Glencross retailiation... Iginla got hauled down a couple times.

Awful all around. Not the reffing you want in a game that means so much to both franchises.

Okay Refs and Lineys let's remember how important the games are for these teams right now.

The Stajan hit was a nasty hit from behind. Should have been 2 min.

Glencross hit was dirty and reactionary yes, should have only been 2 min.

The 2, too many men on the Sharks in the first period is ridiculous. The first one could have been a penalty, the 2nd, not a chance, and then the Flames had too many men on the ice early in the 2nd period, with no call.

Just a piss poor performance by the zebras for both teams.

Sharks need to step their game up with some real good competition coming to the tank.

Finally some form of decent looking offence. Nothing against guys like Wingles - but we need some better contributions.

Thank God Havlat is finally back. I know it will take him several games to get back into it fully, but even a 50% Havlat is better than Winnik on the 2nd line.

We need Havlat on that line to round our our Top 6.
